Chapter 2 - Soon To Be Queen

Madeline's perspective -

     Madeline woke up in her bed to see prince Edward looking at her from the corner of her room. "Ed, what happened?" "I thought you would remember, it was our engagement after all" Ed said in an annoyed and tired voice. "Oh no I thought it was a dream, that means-" "We will be getting married soon, yes, that is exactly what it means" he said in the same voice as before. "I'm so sorry Ed" I said in a sorrowful voice "I didn't mean for this to happen." "No, it's my fault, but know what ever happens we have to stay strong, for the sake of Atlantis." He said in dark tone. I agreed by nodding rapidly, he had never been this serious, he was always saying jokes and laughing. He was like a brother to me and I wanted it to stay like that. After my parents died when I was only four I looked up to the king for guidance. How could he, he wanted me to marry someone who was like a brother to me. To think he even cared about me, it was all a lie. I started sobbing then and Ed rushed over to my side. "What's wrong bubbles" I laughed as he said my childhood nickname from when I was nine...

"Madeline what are you doing!" 13 year old Ed said while laughing "those flowers give you a nasty case of the-" he was cut of as I took a smell of the patch of water lilacs in the garden. Right at that moment I made the biggest sneeze anyone's ever heard and was pushed back seven feet into the aquatic Azalea bush. We both looked in astonishment for a couple seconds before bursting out laughter. "It looked like bubbles where coming out of you nose!" Ed said while throwing a fit of laughter "that's going to be your new nickname 'bubbles'!"

"Sorry, I guess your too old for that nickname now" Ed said almost embarrassed. "No it was funny I haven't heard that nickname since I was twelve" I said in an upbeat voice as I got out of bed. "And I think you should know.." Said Ed as he tried to find the right words to continue the sentence, "I'm dating someone"he said squinting his eyes, expecting me to be mad. "I'm not mad if that's what your implying". "Oh thank Poseidon, I thought you would be mad since we are, you know, getting married and all". "Not at all it's not like it's are choice after all". "Ok good, now we must get ready father-, I mean his highness the king requires are presence, so I will leave you to change" and with that he walked out the door, leaving me to think how I will be queen very soon.
