Meeting Blackpink

Lee Suhyun nervously shifted from side to side. She was waiting in the practice room to introduce herself to her group mates. Sure, she was already labelmates with Blackpink, but labelmates was a far cry from being permanently added to the group. As the clock ticked, she began getting more restless and fidgety. Standing up, she started pacing the room. What if they didn't like her? They were all so stylish and pretty and confident, and sure, they were nice to her during award shows and whenever they interacted, but she knew she'd wouldn't be too thrilled if an extra member was added to AKMU. But maybe it was different, since Chanhyuk was her brother. Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Ah, hello? Come in." She sat up as her older brother Chanhyuk came in.

"Just came to check up on you. I know you overthink shit a lot." He said, as Suhyun gave a weak smile, before sighing and sitting down.

"I'm just thinking... What if they hate me? What if they think I'm ugly or fat or-" She was cut off by Chanhyuk shushing her.

"Listen to me, Suhyun. You're the most amazing, talented person I know, and anyone who says otherwise is crazy."

"But-"

"Tell you what. If anyone tries to mess with you, tell me and we'll send Jjome to bite their ankles."

"Yeah, right. Jjome wouldn't hurt a fly." She giggled, waving dismissively.

"But seriously. They're going to love you. Okay?" Suhyun nodded slowly, regaining confidence, and leaning on Chanhyuk's shoulder. "Now, are you okay?"

"I'm fine... You're probably just here to see Blackpink, right?" Suhyun said, playfully shoving his shoulder as Chanhyuk burst out laughing.

"Yah, I'm not that tactless!" Chanhyuk said, laughing along. Their moment was interrupted by a second knock on the door. "Ah, come in."

Blackpink, in all their glory, walked in. They were even more fierce looking in person. Suhyun tried not to tremble as she stood up and bowed.

"I-I'm Lee Suhyun. Nice to meet you, uhm, officially, I mean..." She said, as she mentally facepalmed. First impressions and she was already blowing it. Chanhyuk then stepped forward.

"I'm sorry. This is my sister, Lee Suhyun. She'll be joining your guy's group. I assume you've met?" Suhyun hid behind Chanhyuk, nodding. Since when did her brother become the smooth talker while she sounded like a bumbling idiot? It was probably nerves. Jisoo was the first to step forward.

"Well, it's nice to see you again Suhyun ah." Jisoo said, as everyone stood together for a group introduction.

"Hi, we are Blackpink!" The four girls said, bowing as Suhyun bowed as well.

"So, when did YG tell you guys?" She said, fixing her hair.

"A few days ago, actually. He called us into his office and told us we were getting a new girl."

"Oh, really? I'm sorry it just got sprung on you like that." She said, looking away as Jennie shrugged.

"It's no big deal. YG has sprung way worse on us than this. You're a pleasant surprise, honestly." Rose said, as Lisa nodded in agreement.

"Well, that's good." Suhyun said, smiling happily. "I thought you guys would hate me or something." She said, as Jennie shook her head.

"What? No, of course not! We already know each other. You're not like a complete stranger." Jennie said, smiling. She looked a lot less intimidating that way.

"Yeah, I get it. I honestly feel silly now." She said, wringing her hands.

"Well Suhyun ah, I guess we should say it officially. Welcome to Blackpink!" Rose said as Jisoo took her hand.

"C'mon, there's so much to do! We've got to get you moved into our dorm and everything!" As the members dragged her away, Suhyun looked over her shoulder and waved goodbye to Chanhyuk, who waved back. She could already tell this was going to be a wild ride.
