ENJOY.

(ages 14)

June 4th, 1985

Finally the sunny weather crept upon the town of Hawkins, saying goodbye to the cold and evil that lay within. It was finally summer which meant the party could spend all the time in the world together outside, and they were attending high school for the first time in just a few months. Hawkins troubles were finally over and the party could move on in peace, forgetting about their evil past.

Or so they thought.

A promise had been made to El by Hopper on her fourteenth birthday a month or so back that when it comes to summer the pair can redecorate El's room into something more exciting, into something that she likes, and if she was lucky, 'The Wheeler Boy can come and help.'

So here they were. In the cabin, music blasting as they danced and sang and painted the walls into El's favourite colour: light green. It wasn't pink or purple like most would expect, but instead a gorgeous light green that suited her well. Both Hopper and Mike were glad that she was finally finding herself and was becoming quite a smart, unique young teenage girl.

Old bed sheets covered up her soft carpet as paint was splattered onto them. Hopper was currently out buying more paint brushes, therefore the rest of the painting was just up to Mike and El.

It was an extremely hot day, therefore windows were wide open, and both Mike and El were in old shorts and old t-shirts. El wearing one of Hopper's oversized ones.

As the mix-tape came to a close, El took that chance to put her brush down and look at the beauty her and Mike had created throughout the past hour. It looked perfect, just how El wanted. It felt as though she was finally able to be and feel herself without judgement. She loved how she could express herself.

Her gorgeous brown curls that reached just above her shoulders swirled around to look at Mike who was still painting. He was getting so tall. God he was perfect. His hair, his freckles that she would count, his eyes that she could get lost in for hours, even his hands were perfect.

"It looks great so far!" El giggled with a huge cheesy grin on her face while Mike turned around and smiled as he looked at what they had accomplished so far.

"Yeah, I love the colour.." Mike spoke as he slowly turned to face El, whose small body was looking up at him with glee, "But not as much as I love y-"

El quickly looked up, hoping for him to finish his sentence. She wanted him to say I love you so bad, but he didn't have the guts.

"Your eyes. Not as much as I love your eyes, yeah." MIke rambled, going slightly red but thinking he got away with it.

"My eyes?" El questioned confused.

Mike smiled as he inched closer to her smaller frame and looked down into her eyes, already beginning to get lost in them. "They're just so perfect."

El blushed slightly and looked down, "I like your eyes too," she began, "They're pretty."

Mike smiled at her words.

The young girl stopped looking down as she got a sudden rush to reach on her tip toes and kiss him sweetly. Mike was surprised but felt warmth at the sudden movement and kissed her back. A flood of excitement and happiness passed through them like waves as they both grinned into the kiss. It lasted a good few seconds before they both pulled back, grinning with cuteness.
