Connor
Im sitting at one of the benches outside beside a pool, waiting for Bethany to walk down, seeing as I texted her 5 minutes ago.
Things with her started to get weird since yesterday,
Flashback
"You have a squeal more than a girl," Bethany laughed the moment I walked out of the restroom, "I mean, I'm supposed to be feeling bad, but the look on your face tells me otherwise."
"Next time, pick better agendas so I'd plan myself on how to impress you," The words we're almost like liquid just flowing out of my mouth without filter.
She was just shocked as I am, seeing the look on her face, "Hey, what about some ice cream?"
End
"Waiting for Bethany??" I looked at the direction and it was Mere.
A hint of smile made their way into my lips, "Yeah."
"Mind if I join you??" She popped that radiant smile she would like to call "the aftermath of braces".
Nothing was going on and just like the promise of keeping things civil, I said, "Yeah, sure"
For a couple of minutes we sat there silently, hearing the water slapping the cruise, "Are you still angry at me?"Meredith decided to ask as I looked at her.
"I don't know," I started, "What're you supposed to feel if you see the girl you thought you loved cheated on his own best friend?" I asked.
I wanted to tell everything, that I was not suppose to forgive her. Them. But I had the ounce of respect, and decided to keep my mouth shut.
"Connor, I-" She said, clearly taken back on my sudden outburst, "Okay, it was true. But I did not use you just to be close to him"
I scoff, removing my eyes on her, "Its still the same Mere, you shouldn't have said yes to me, if you clearly wanted to be with him."
Deciding that I had enough of these explanations lately, I stood up and walked away, texting Bethany to meet me on some other place.
"So you just easily moved on because you already met Bethany?" Meredith said, "I see the way you look at her Connor, that was supposed to be me."
I stopped tracks, "Why are you doing this now?" I asked, turning around, "Why come back after what you've done?" My voice was gradually raising now.
"Because I regretted every decision that I made!" She said, "Connor, I still love you, call me a liar, but I do,"
I don't ignore the fact that being back with Meredith could get anything a whole lot easier, but I swallow that desire, things, shouldn't be back to the way it was, "I wanted you to say that months ago," I said, "But the things you did, never changed anything, Meredith, in fact, it just made everything easier, I like Bethany, hell, even more than I like you and I'm not sorry for that."
I turned around to leave her, just as the second I saw a familiar brunette stop her tracks looking at me.
Beth
Next time, pick better agendas so I'd plan myself on how to impress you.
Impress me? What the hell.
If things weren't awkward yesterday, I hope it still wouldn't be today. I had those exact same words, repeat on my mind, not to mention the countless butterflies swarming on my stomach every time I think of it.
But of course, I had to just face my fears and agree on meeting Connor today.
So, I walked down to the pool, not until, I hear voices and the mention of my name, "So you just easily moved on because you already met Bethany?"
That, sounded like a woman, and curiosity came to me as I walk out to see who were talking.
"Connor, I still love you, call me a liar, but I do,"
Two figures were talking in front of me.
I had to leave. God, why are you so stupid Bethany, did you really think Connor could've moved on from her?
"But the things you did, never changed anything, Meredith, in fact, it just made everything easier, I like Bethany, hell, even more than I like you and I'm not sorry for that."
What?
I was too nervous on getting a complete explanation so I took my chance to just leave, well, not until Connor turned and practically caught my eye.
"Maybe now's not the good time," I said and practically just walked fast.
"Beth, stop!" I hear Connor call after me, nonetheless I still kept walking, "Bethany!"
I felt someone grab my wrist and pulled me, "Please just let me explain."
"I um. No" I said reeling my hands away from him, "I heard everything Connor, and maybe you're just confused, just give it time."
"It was real," Connor said stopping me from my tracks, "I like you, Bethany, I really do."
"That doesn't change the fact that Meredith wants you back," I say, "I don't want you torn between her and me,"
"What? Of course it does," Connor says, "I told you everything between us, with what Meredith did, I just can't say yes to her."
"Well what if I end up being like you in this situation?" I pressed, "I don't want that."
"Go out with me," He pushed, "Go out with me and let's see where this takes us."
