As Jamie and Roger came back to the campsite Jack came up to them and asked, "Where were you guys? You two took forever, I was getting worried about Ja- both of you. I was about to search for you?" Roger and Jamie shared a look then exploded into a fit of laughter. Jamie tried to speak between gasps of air, " I- hear-heard y-you say par-t of my na-me." Roger spoke next, " Then y-your fa-ce ha-d t-t-turned red aft-er-wards." by this time Jamie had stopped laughing and looked at jack with a serious expression on her face. "Why did you turn red Jack?" she asked. Jack couldn't speak so he just looked at her, his mind swirling with thoughts. "Um, earth to Jack?" Roger had stopped laughing and looked at Jack with curiosity. Finally Jack spoke," Roger can....can I talk to you for a second?", Roger replied with uneasiness in his voice," Sure Jack. Just give me a moment." Roger turned to Jamie and bade her goodnight with a hug.
"Goodnight Roger.", Jamie said as she walked past him, she stopped when was next to Jack, " Goodnight Jack.", she said while giving him a quick squeeze on the shoulder. Jack watched her walk alone to her cabin wondering if she would be okay.
"Jack?", Roger broke the awkward silence that appeared when Jamie left, "What did you want to talk to me about?" "Huh?" Jack said in surprise, he had completely forgot about asking Roger to stay, "Oh. Right, um. . .What did you guys talk about?" A look of confusion crossed Rogers face but he answered the question anyway, "We talked about our lives before we crashed on the island and turns out," Roger lets out a small laugh, "that we went to the same school."
