Coming of age

Lets not waste too much of our time thinking about the things we went through during our childhood and teenage years, the things that either broke us or made us that much stronger, because we get it. Been there, done that and besides, these are some of the things were about to explore.

But by the time we reach our 16th Birthday, we should, to all intents and purposes, be mostly grown up. All thats needed is a bit of spit and polish, a slight attitude adjustment and hey presto, welcome to adulthood. So, are we ready for this?

Up until then, for most of us, lifes been a fairly sweet ride, aided by a shit load of studies having already figured out whats supposed to happen between birth and reaching our early teens, so no surprises there.

At six months we should be able to sit upright, pick up small objects and maybe even recognise our own ugly little mug in a mirror. Three months later, were drinking from cups and should be able to understand simple requests. By the time we turn two, we can say I and you and figure out how to put a hat on. Just like a little monkey. By our fourth Birthday we can string a sentence together and hold a conversation.

Between four and seven, we get a handle on time, space and mostly everything else. Arent we clever little f**ks.
