"So she gave you that number-"
"right,"
"Why did she want you and why did you agree,"
"well, she was right, I loved the action and instead, I sat at a desk and did paperwork all day, I did two jobs and still barely got enough money to get me through the month,"
"so your main cause was the money that accompanied,"
"desperate times call for desperate measures,"
That night I lay awake thinking about it. I didn't know what to do and was rather torn whether to call the number or not. ''I need some fresh air'' I mumbled. I got up and put on my slippers and went out to the terrace. It was a quite windy night. I looked out into the city my apartment faced. I stood there thinking about "the good old days". I never felt like I belonged in that desk job and suddenly something came over me and I grabbed my phone and dialled the number. I felt weirdly excited after a long time.
''Hello, there'' said a voice, ''This is Dillman dental, how may I help you?''.
''Hi, I am looking for a Sophia Dillman. Is she there?'' I asked her.
''oh yes you must be mister Jones, yes she informed me you might be calling. I'm afraid she is not here right now but she left a message for you. She left so and so address and she would like to meet you there by tomorrow if you're interested''
''okay great tell her I'll be there'' I said and I hung up.
#####################
I felt the breeze on my face as I made my way down to the address where I was supposed to meet her. It was a quiet chilly day and I had not been wearing a jacket. Now I wanted to get there faster. I reached the address and was surprised that it was a large warehouse. I went up to the front door and rang the bell. ''who is it ?'' asked a bored voice from the voice box.
''I'm here to meet Sophia,'' I laughed and said.
''come on in'' and the door opened. I walked in and saw her sitting on a couch.
''well well, look who came'' said Sophia smiling and polishing her nails. ''well I came alright'' I said still a little sceptical. She motioned me to follow her. we walked in a room which looked a lot like a dental office. ''as you might know, I have a dental business, and I wanted to hire you to be my assistant. whaddya say huh?'' she said.
''what? what do you mean? what?-''.
''chill out I'm just pulling your leg'' and she pulled back a drill kept vertically. The bookcase behind me opened giving way.
The room that the passage led to was gigantic. It had a high ceiling and an impressive collection of cars. I looked over and saw some people firing a gun at targets ''damn'' I mumbled to myself.
''so Sop--''
''please refrain from calling me Sophia, it is a bit too formal and in my line of work, if anyone found out my name, I would sure be in a pickle. Please if you will, my employees call me 'Mummy'. Call me that will ya?''.
''Sure thing. although don't you find that name a little weird'' I said.
"It's alright"
''Well as I was saying, what am I doing exactly'' I asked her. she raised her eyebrow and said
''Arent you a little impatient to be in the army?''.
''how do you know that?"
''Ah please, I do my bit homework before I try to hire someone,'' she said smirking
