The Dream

"Now you told about this recurring dream,"

"Yeah, after the job was the first time I had it,"

I found myself in a dark room. A ray of light entered the room along with a loud shriek of a woman. Terrified, I ran towards it and saw something I never thought I'd see. It was right there, my mom was lying there motionless "no-no-no-noo-no-NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'' I yelled as loud as I could and I fell to my knees, I couldn't move, I was petrified.

"PETER!" I jerked awake. Carrol stood there over me, and I was still in the truck sleeping in money...I know that sounds douchey but you know...

"You alright," He asked me

"Yeah yeah I'm fine," I walked got up and walked away from him as fast as possible. What the hell was that dream even. I thought my brain was broken for sure this time and then I saw where we were. It was a vast countryside, with farms and everything. The place had a very relaxed almost lethargic vibe.

''Stop enjoying the view and help us load this cash in the bags,'' Mikayla said.

"What does she even need this much money for?" Brandon asked as he filled a bag to the brim and threw it aside.

"Who even knows at this point..." Carrol said

I walked towards them and started loading the money into bags. When we were done Carrol pushed a button on the little phone he had.

''Okay extraction is on its way,'' He said. We all waited for a while and then a small green pickup truck pulled up near them.

''Good job guys'' Mummy got out and walked up to us ''Load it in what are you waiting for?''. We did as we were told and after loading the cash we all sat inside. After a short drive of about 15 minutes or so, We reached a small house.

It was double-storeyed and had that vintage look like it was.s built a couple of decades ago.

''Woah this place is nice!'' Brandon said as he made his way in. We all went ahead and chose a bedroom for themselves and settled in for the night. I walked went into the family room of the house. It was very cosy. it had brown rug wallpaper on the walls. Mummy was sitting by the fire. The fire crackled behind her she was sipping on a hot cup of tea.

"you like tea huh?''

'' Tea is superior to coffee. try and change my mind,'' she said and laughed

''Relax I'm not gonna,''

''good.''

''we're all over the news aren't we?'' I asked her

''wow, you are not dumb are you? how did you know'' said mummy surprised

''well for the time I have known you which would be a couple of months maybe, you seem to have a taste for lavish stuff. So seeing YOU in a barn house in the middle of like a million farms is as strange as seeing a mouse kill a lion. UNLESS you wanna lay low so you don't spend the remnants of your life in jail.''

"WOW, you don't beat around the bush, do you? well, you are right indeed we need to lay low for a couple of months till this thing blows over. Off you go to bed now. Blimey, can't a girl even drink tea in silence?''

I woke up the next morning and walked down. The floorboards creaked at my steps, just proving how old the house was. Everyone sat in the kitchen having breakfast.

"Good morning'' Mummy said. I seated myself on the table between Mikayla and Brandon. and started to eat the pancakes.

"Okay, now as soon as this blows over, we will return and you shall not see me until further notice. When I need you the next time'' Mummy said while handing out pens ''The little light at the top of this pen will start glowing. That means I got a job for you. You will after receiving the notification via the pen, shall report to the warehouse the very next day. I hope that is understood," she said as she seated her self in a chair and began eating.

''Ahh I missed the outside world and hearing sounds other than Brandon farting'' Mikayla said chuckling. We came out after a month or two and had one final lunch together.

''Hey you know I have gas problems'' said Brandon defensively. During the time at the house, Mikayla and I had grown pretty close, and I saw this as the perfect chance to ask her out.

''so now that we are outside, you wanna grab umm-- you know---''

"you wanna go out sometime peter?'' She said like it was not a big deal while taking a bite from her burger.

''Took the words out of my mouth''

''Oh honey if I didn't, they would have never come out,'' She smiled and winked at me

''Su-sure I would love to" I fumbled and said. Mikayla smiled at me, got up and went over to one of the shops and I remember I did a little dance after that.

He laughed a little, 

''that is where our relationship began,"

"That wasn't required really but okay..."
