"Well, everyone, it is lunchtime! Bring your lunch and get going!" Ms. Bing Bong announced with her usual monotone voice.

In the end, it's over...even though I'm benched. I do not want to sit and watch everyone else play, though.

Maggie held the entire container of candies that was bigger than her as I walked out of the classroom with Chicky.

Why does she have it while I don't? The world isn't fair...I guess I'm going to have to do what I want to do. (🎶 That's what I'll give, if that's what it takes🎶)

I whispered, "Chicky! I'm jealous of the blues for having the candy, so let's steal it!".

She nodded enthusiastically.

We discussed our plans at our secret hideout, which was behind the bulletin board, and went to our positions. My plan was going to work perfectly. I just knew it.

"Maggie, help! There's an emergency!" I yelled, pointing at a humongous yellow caterpillar that looked like it was ready to attack me.

When she let go of the container, she showed off her beautiful vibrant blue feathers and looked as terrified as I was.

Oh no, I'm scared, too! Not. The plan for the time being went accordingly.

Even though I hated staring at her, I couldn't help but compare myself to  her. My feathers were ruffled and oily while hers were clean and straight.

Just then, I saw Chicky behind her grab the container and put it in her backpack.

"I got it, Tina! I got it!" she said as she approached me.

In a suspicious tone, Maggie inquired, "Got what?"?

Chicky! Please don't blow our cover.

"Uh, n-n-nothing! I stuttered. "Anyhow, back to this disgusting and horrifying  creature. I want to play here, so can you help me kick it aside?"

"Oh, no! You poor caterpillar...I shall call you Sunshine since you make me happy! When I hurt you, where would you be? I'll take you home," she said while getting a stick to climb on and placing it in a box.

A bird caring for a creature as that was definitely strange to me; I've never witnessed that before in a bird. Wouldn't they be willing to eat them alive?

She then stormed off to her backpack, only to find that the container containing the candies had disappeared. I fought the urge to chuckle when I saw her face: round, googly eyes, a dropped jaw, and wings covering her beak.

She shouted in her cute, squeaky voice, stomping off into the school building, "Tina! Chicky! You pranked me! Now I loathe you both, argh!"

With a voice like that, who could not do so?

"Well, that's what you get for being at the top of the class, making us all jealous," I explained.

After a moment of silence, she stormed off.

Ms. Bing Bing emerged with an irksome expression on her face after a while.

"Tina, you should be sitting on that bench there, and Chicky, you took the candy you weren't supposed to have! Both of you are getting detention for two whole hours. Now, go to the principal's office!"

Maggie told on us like that and I couldn't believe it! The chicks had to suffer in detention while the birds had fun.

Ms. Bing Bing has been rummaging through Chicky's backpack, but I don't want to get in any more trouble. In any case, if she hadn't done anything to me, I didn't see the point of it.

"Mrs. Bing Bong? Tina and Chicky stole Maggie's candies, but I have detained them. "I got them back and gave them to Maggie again," she reported.

So that' is what she was doing? Now she isn't on our side either!

"Wow, that's amazing! The chicks are getting on my nerves, though... we should devise a way to stop them from stealing!

She returned with a silver object attached to a ring type of ring from her classroom. Additionally, there was a dial with numbers and letters. Then she got out her phone and tapped it so many times that my mind went blank as if someone erased my memory or something of the like.

In the back, the blues wrote something on a sticky note.

Maggie hacked Mrs. Bing Bong's phone holding a card as Mrs. Bing Bong turned the dial.

Everyone had a smile on their faces. Smiles filled the air, smiles formed, clapping sounds filled the room, and everyone was cheerful. It was partially like that for Chicky and I as well or so I thought to be.

"Tina and Chicky, you guys are free from detention now and may return to class," Mrs. Bing Bong stated, returning to the classroom.

Amid, I was ecstatic because, let's face it, who would want to stay in a non-colored, four-wall room with desks and chairs?

Chicky and I were on our way but were astonished to see the treasured candies yet again.

As I was trying to open it, I noticed a card and lock on top. Regardless of whether it was one of the birds' doing, I wasn't going to stop any time soon.

It asked for the password.

Chicky guessed "bird."

"Incorrect. Try again in twenty-four hours."

One whole day?! I could barely survive in this kind of treatment for that long!

The feathers on my head were shivering. My beak was immobile. Immediately, my eyes were drawn to the contemptible container. How dare it speak to me that way? Adorbsville, my home town, regarded me as the most valuable chick! I get out of detention to this little non-living, offensive, and painful device type of thing?

I clenched my feathers, asking "Is that all you got?"

It was to no one in particular; crickets were all I received.

Embarrassing particles: Help me! My boss is telling me to leave, but I want to stay inside!

As a result, I kicked the candy-filled container away in frustration.

Just when I thought I was alone, Mrs. Bing Bong said, "Chill out, Tina."

On the inside, even though I remained silent, she gave me fuel that I could possibly use later.

How does someone talk to a chick in such a way? Can I tell her that she will not succeed in life and I can only build on that?

"Good. As I was saying, Tina and Chicky, the whole reason I did the lock and security stuff on the candies was so that you pesky animals won't be able to steal any candies. Is that clear?"

"P-p-pesky?" I whimpered.

"Are you trying to talk back to me? Would you like your beak to be taped together along with your wings so I can have some peace and quiet?"

"N-no, I'm sorry, Mrs. Bing Bong. I'll be quiet now," I promised with full truth and defeated self-esteem that I had worked so hard for. I suppose Chicky was just on the side, staring at me in a why-am-I-your-sister way.
