August 1990

It was finally time for Noelle to go to Diagon Alley to get all of the supplies she would be needing when she went to Hogwarts in a week. She was extremely excited, so excited in fact that she ran into the living room and practically tackled Severus whilst begging him to get ready so they could leave. Noelle had never been to Diagon Alley before because everyone thought it was too dangerous to be so out in the open, but finally, after months of her begging, they agreed that she could go and get her own stuff as long as Snape went as well.

At ten in the morning Severus and Noelle were standing in the sitting room waiting to use the floo network once Snape received word from Lupin that it looked safe.

"Dad, come on. I'm going to be disguised anyway, why are you so nervous?" Noelle stated impatiently.

"I'm not nervous, where'd you get that idea from?" Snape retorted quickly.

"Probably from the fact that I can feel the suspense rolling off you in waves, or maybe its the fact that I know that you asked Tonks and Lupin to come as well and trail us all day." She said, in a tone that suggested she was extremely annoyed by this.

Snape looked around guiltily searching for something, anything he could say to distract Noelle from the fact that he lied to her.

"You know what, forget it, I know it's the truth and I honestly couldn't care less because we're going out and I'm going to finally get a wand." She added after she read the look on her father's face.

"You do realise you don't need a wand right, never have, never will." Snape uttered.

"Yes but I really would like to learn to use one as well as being able to do spells without"

"Fine" Severus said glumly, he was not looking forward to seeing Olivander who would no doubt question why Snape was with a child and will certainly be able to tell who she really is when he tries to find the right wand. "Please can you change your appearance so we can leave when Remus sends word."

Snape turned around for two seconds to get the bag of floo powder and when he turned back in the place where his dark haired- pale skinned daughter had been moments ago, stood a blond girl with blue eyes and tanned skin. She was the same height as Noelle because she knew that the measurements for the wand would have to be equal to those of her own appearance. In his head all Snape could think is that no matter how many times Noelle did that, he would never get used to it. She was still his little girl, personality wise, but whenever they went out she always looked different.

When she was younger they turned it into a game. They would take it in turns saying a different characteristic and then Noelle would add it to her appearance. This led to some very interesting combinations, which would have the both of them in fits of laughter rolling around on the floor.

Just then the fire turned blue for a couple of seconds. That was the signal, they were free to go.

"Are you ready?" Snape questioned.

"Ready as I'll ever be"

And with that Severus grabbed his daughters hand and walked towards the fireplace. Once they were both in, he dropped the powder he was holding and stated in a clear voice "Diagon Alley."

Next thing Noelle knew she was exciting the fireplace in the leaky cauldron feeling a little bit dizzy but overall ok. It was way better than the first time apparating she thought, least she wasn't sick like she was then.

Snape was pulling his daughter along because it was clear to him that she was too busy taking in her surroundings, not that there was much to see in the dingy pub, to watch where she was going.
