-The Black Leather Book-

Y/N POV's
A sleepless night again. I should really stop reading but I can't help it! The book in my hands have me captured. The detailing, the plot, the...the-

"AHHH NOOOO!" I scream as I clutch the thick red leather book in my hand and bring it closer to my flat chest covered by a size big jumper. "THEY CAN'T DO THAT TO ME-"

The white door to my room is swung open to reveal my tired mother, her hair tied back in a bun. She was still standing in her work uniform which consisted of a blouse and a pencil skirt. She has a slight glare, he eyes still tired and her eyeliner smudged deep within her lower lids.

"(Y/N)! Dear! Keep your screaming down please, I'm going back to work soon and home soon dearie. If you keep screaming, your neighbours would want you to move out." She stated as she let out a tired yawn at the end.

I laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of my neck, only feeling the goosebumps that had rose from the sudden cold being drafted into my room by the open door.

"I apologise mother. I did not want to cause any alarm...it's just my favourite couple broke up and-" I was once again interrupted by a different voice, the same tiredness coating it just like my mother's.

"(Y/N), your mother and I still have work. And you, my child ,still have school." My father stated, him standing in his suit.

My parents honestly made any mafia-coupling stand down against their attire.

"But the booookkkkk," I whined out, holding it high in the air, the pages flipping down from gravity. Luckily my thumb was still in place from where I just read off.

I could hear both of my parents laughing, closing the door behind them, with a soft 'click'.

"Okay then, bye." I said to no one as I reopened my book, scanning through the sentences finding where I left off. "I'm sure one more chapter won't harm anyone."

--The Next Day (School Day)--

....Am I forgetting something....

SCHOOL!

I bolted straight out of my own bed, throwing the covers off and scattering around my room trying to find my clothing for the day. After all, being one of the oldest students in High School did have its perks such as I'm allowed in the teacher's lounge, my timetable is a little off from everyone else's, meaning I have much more freetime and I get my meals for free weirdly enough.

Don't you just love bursaries.

Grabbing my clothing I wished to wear on this day and my bag of my school supplies, I ran to my mirror and brush through my hair with a comb and used a small amount of gel I had picked up on my way.

I smiled at myself in the mirror. 'Only a year left...then- I should really start planning my future' I think to myself as I stared at the picture in the corner of my mirror. It was a photo of my classmates...not that I really talk to them though but it was nice for them to ask me to join in with the photo.

Shaking my head, I backed away from my mirror and ventured out of my office like room. As I walked along the hallway, I could hear each creak of the floorboards and made a mental note to get them fixed up at some point.

The quietness of my home was nice, I had nothing to worry about either. I actually was held back a year from my past school before coming to UnderHigh because i dropped out as I wanted to become an author, however my book I wrote wasn't up to good standards and it took a while to recover from it...But those are memories that will be forever forgotten on why I was held back because one day, just one day I'll be able to publish a book that'll make other authors read it for inspiration and motivation.
