𝓣HE entire EastHigh polo team were hanging out in EJ's house, it was the biggest out of everyone in the team so they usually went there or hung out at the café downtown. However, no one argued against chilling out at the Caswell's mansion, it was a tradition now.
For Luke, it was tradition to raid his best friend's fridge, so that's what he was doing while all the cheering and shouting was going on in the living room. They had just won their first game of the season, so it was a victory party.
"Did Mrs. Caswell forget to go grocery shopping again?" Luke rummaged through the empty pantry, there was practically nothing, "seriously? No Sour Patch Kids? That's literally in the snacks starter pack."
"Dude, if you're looking for food, it's all in the living room," EJ Caswell, out of the varsity jacket he was commonly seen in, sat upon the table. "If you're hungry, the guys won't mind if you join them."
"I'm sure they won't but I don't want to interrupt. No offense but I don't think I have much in common with those guys," Luke walked away from the fridge, propped himself up on the counter next to the other brown-haired boy. "You really need to fix your sense of style..." He eyed the button-up shirt he was wearing.
It made EJ take a second look at what Luke had on, he had way better style than him. The retro shirt and the sleeveless hoodie mix was something he looked really good in which was good because he happened to wear it every day. It showed off his bulging forearms so no one was complaining. Wow, EJ was so wasted ━ he was checking out his best friend.
"Please tell me you're still not moping over a junior?" Luke slung an arm over his shoulder, shaking him, "dude, it's senior year!"
"Did you seriously just quote High School Musical?"
EJ knew how crazy Luke was about musicals and just plain old music in general. He had dreams of becoming a huge rock star and taking over the world one day. And, he had seen his best friend shred on his guitar enough to know that he was really good, like really good. Even with all his musical skills, Luke didn't even audition for the school musical. He argued against doing it, as much as EJ may have bugged him, he only agreed to help with the band.
"Whatever," the other boy shook his head, "that isn't the point, you need to get your head in the game." He smiled, "Okay, I did that one on purpose."
