The next few weeks go by so quickly. Jason slowly starts to talk to me but I can tell he's still annoyed about what happened. Mckenzie go back to hanging out heaps. We go to the movies a few times and I go over to her house lots and she comes to mine.
I lye in bed and think about the past few weeks. I regret going out with Jason. I should have just told him the truth but instead, I was an idiot and pretended, I loved him. Why am I so stupid. My phone buzzes and I reach over to my nightstand where my phone sits, charging. I pick it up and there's a message from Mckenzie.
'Hey, you want to come over for a party tonight.' The message reads. I think about it for a second. My dad would never let me go to a party but I guess I could pretend that I'm studying. I reply 'yes' and go to my cupboard to find a dress that could be worn for both a party and studying.
Once I pick an outfit and get dressed I walk downstairs where my mum and dad are.
"Hey, where are you going," my mum asks.
"I'm going to Mckenzies to study," I say nervously.
"And you're going in that," my mum says looking at my dress.
"Yeah, what's wrong with it," I ask.
"Nothing," my mum says quickly. I nod.
"Well, anyway I'll be back by ten okay," I say.
"Okay, enjoy," my dad says. "Remember to be safe."
I nod. I grab my bag and walk out of the door. Because Mckenzie only lives a few minutes away I decide to walk to her house.
After a couple of minutes, I arrive and the party has already started. I can hear loud music coming from the inside and I can hear people laughing and I'm not sure but I think I heard glass breaking. I walk through the door and step on a bit of broken glass.
"Yep, something definitely did break," I whisper to myself. I walk around and try to find Mckenzie. As I do Jason bumps into me. I can tell he's drunk because his breath strongly smells of beer and he's stumbling around like he doesn't know where he is or where he's going.
"Heyyyy, Lilac," Jason says staring at me. "You're looking real cute tonight. Want to make out."
"No, thanks," I say. Jason looks sad and as I walk past him, I spot Mckenzie in the corner of her kitchen drinking something out of a red cup.
"Hey, Mckenzie," I shout over the loud music.
"Hey," she shouts back.
I walk up to her as Isabelle walks away.
"You wna dnk," she says. I have no idea what she just said because the music is so loud.
"What," I shout.
"Do you want a drink," she shouts.
I have never drunk before but I might as well give it a go. "Sure."
She grabs a red cup and pours in a lot of beer. She hands it to me and I nod. I put the cup up to my mouth and take a big gulp. It tastes bitter and straight after I drink it I immediately start coughing. Mckenzie goes to play a beer game with some of the boys and so I wander around drinking beer every so often.
After a bit, I start to feel dizzy. My cup is empty and so I tell myself not to drink anymore but for some reason, I keep getting involved in drinking games which involves in more drinking and before I know it, I'm drunk.
At ten o'clock Mckenzie walks up to me. "Why are you still here."
"What do you mean," I shout. "Why would I ever leave." I take another gulp of beer. Mckenzie grabs my cup and throws it away.
"Okay, that's enough beer for you," she says. "Let's go up to my bedroom."
She grabs my arm and pulls me upstairs. I have no idea where I am going but who cares. I'd go anywhere with Mckenzie.
When we get into the bedroom she lies me down on the bed.
"Try to get some sleep," she says. I look at her. This is the first time I have ever really looked at her before.
"You are beautiful," I say.
"Thank you but your drunk and you have no idea what you're saying," she says. "I better go back down to the party before anyone breaks anything."
"No, stay," I whine. I grab her arm and pull her down on the bed. I turn over and look into her eyes.
"I have to go," she says.
"Okay, but before you do I need to tell you something," I say.
She nods and I lean closer. I go to whisper something in her ear but instead, I kiss her. Our lips touch and there are fireworks. I pull away and we stare at each other. She kisses me back more passionately than before. A shattering sound goes off downstairs and Mckenzie quickly pulls away.
"I really need to go," she says.
She kisses me on my forehead and leaves the room leaving me in utter silence, and confusion.
