7pm

They had finally returned to the lake house a couple of hours later. Liam couldn't help but think back to his conversation with Adryan. He couldn't help but remember the look of remorse and sadness on his face. He did truly believe that he was sorry, that he had no intention of hurting him anymore.

Liam breathed in, relishing in the smell of the lake in front of him. He really wished he could use his powers, just to drown in the noise of nature, even if for just a moment. He had to admit that even though he had fun these two days, he wished they could have been better. He wished Stiles wasn't having a battle with himself, fighting to decide what was real and what was not. That laser tag would have just been a normal game, not one where some....thing broke apart his little happy world in seconds. Summer was almost over, they'd have to go back to school. Most of his friends would be seniors now.

"Liam?" Mason asked, walking up to sit next to him," What's wrong?"

Liam closed his eyes, knowing Mason was looking at him. He breathed deeply, setting his hands behind him to lay back a little," I hope things get better."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... I thought things were good. The first month of summer, Stiles was broken. I was sad, but in a better place than he was. I tried my best to help him and I managed to do a pretty good job. This month was amazing, but because I thought we were all happy. It sucks to know how he still had personal things going on that he felt we couldn't help him with. On top of that, I had to deal with Adryan all over again. It's like.....things seem good when you look at them from faraway, but when you get a closer look, you see how much of a lie it all is."

"Are you happy now?" Mason asked.

"Honestly...yes. , I'm happy that we've all spent some time together."

"Much needed time together," Mason smiled," Life comes with negativity. Maybe you guys were meant to find out about what has been going on with Stiles. Knowing what is going on can help you confront the problem head on. If you think about it, now you can focus on figuring out different ways to help Stiles. Maybe even share his pain, which is what friends do Liam."

Liam gave him a toothy smile, chuckling while shaking his head," Geez, you sound like an old man giving me advice."

"I blabber and hope for the best to be honest."

"A gift, Mase."

"You guys! Lydia is almost done cooking dinner for us!" Malia yelled to them.

"Dinner! At 7?!" Liam yelled back

"Just get over here and help me set up the table."

Liam and Mason stood up.

"I wonder why Scott and Sti—" Mason flinched as Liam pulled him into a hug.

"Thank you."

Mason smiled, hugging Liam by the waist tightly," Always count on me, okay?"

"Always." Liam pulled back, smiling at him brightly.

After dinner, Lydia came up with the idea to take some blankets outside, instead of watching a movie like they did yesterday.

"Alright, dad. I'll see you tomorrow, we can talk then." Stiles said, ending the call

"What's up?" Scott asked, multiple blankets in his arms. Liam walked by them with some pillows.

"I wanted to go talk to my dad because of what happened today. We can go down to the station before we go talk to Deaton once we get back."

Scott nodded, walking outside. Stiles picked up some blankets as well.
