Two hearts: Beginnings

Prologue

(Welcome to the Remake of my old KH story, I said some things will be different, so be ready for it)

Patch POV

I felt darkness around me, I can faintly remember what happened a few moments ago. I was enjoying a family dinner with my mom and dad. Then these strange creatures appeared and attacked everyone in town. Scarlet River was a small town, famous for its scarlet colored, watermarks on the concretes and cherry, strawberry, or watermelon flavored water. It's a nice and friendly place to live in. But thanks to these strange creatures, our town fell to disarray and soon, after a few minutes of hiding, it all goes black.

I don't even know what has happened. Is it over, are there gone, is everyone ok? Before I can precede in this thought, I felt something soft on my back. Am I in a bed? I soon began to open my eyes as I will myself to do so. I see that I am in a room of some kind, a hotel room I guess. I try to get up, keyword try, but I found myself too tired to get up. "Oh you are awake" a women's voice spoke out to me. I turn to see a young woman walking into the room. "Miss? Where am I?" I ask her. "My name is Aerith, and you are in Traverse Town" she introduced herself and told me.

"Traverse Town? Where was that?" I ask her, she looked at me and said "you are in a different world" a new world but what about my old one? I asked her and looked sad "I'm sorry to tell you, but the world you came from is gone, it's the only reason you arrived here" I looked at her funny, expecting her to say that she was joking, but as she continued to look sad, I had to assume it was true. I began to cry. What, I'm 9 years old, what do you expect? After a while of letting it out and drying my tears, I soon went back to sleep with help from miss Aerith.

Dive to the heart

I soon found myself on a glass pedestal, a picture of myself and my parents in the corner with an unfamiliar face underneath them. "Power sleeps within you, if you give it from, it will help you on your journey as it begins 6 years from now" a voice said from above as three pedestals appear around me, one ahead of me which held gauntlets, one to my right, a magic staff, one to my left, a shield. "Take your time, and choose wisely" the voice said. I went to the gauntlets and picked them up "the power of the brawler, hand to hand expert, is this the power you seek?" I nod my head and it disappeared.

"You path is chosen, what will you give up in exchange?" I turn around and look at the other two. I pick up the shield "the power of the guardian, kindness to aid friends, is this the power you choose to give up?" Ah I'll need this, I shake my head and pick up the staff. "The power of the mystic, inner strength, is this the power you choose to give up" I nod my head and it disappeared along with the shield. "You choose the power of the brawler, you gave up the power of the mystic, is this the path you choose?" I nod my head.

The pedestals disappeared and the gauntlets I grabbed early appeared on my hands. "You have gained the ability to fight, there will be enemies that will harm you, you must be experienced to fight them when your journey begins" it said as the creatures that attacked my home appeared. At first I was scared, when one leaps at me, I punch it on reflex. It was sent flying back and disappeared on contact to the ground. As I saw that, I grin, payback time. The rest came at me and I punch them all while dodging some and getting scratched a bit. Soon they stopped coming and I was all alone.

"Becareful the closer you are to light, the bigger your shadow" a bigger version of the creatures appeared behind me "don't fear the dark, your heart is strong, may your heart be your guiding key" then, it all went dark as its fist came at me.

Hotel room

I woke with shaky breath. My eyes wide, I took deep breaths like my mom taught me when I feel stressed. Soon I finally calmed down enough to look around the room. I spotted a tray of food with a note. You might want to eat something, so here, I'll be back in later, enjoy -Aerith I look at the food and it sure does look tasty. It was very tasty, I was enjoying them so much, I didn't notice the door opening. "Good morning" I jump a bit as I saw miss Aerith in the doorway.

I look out the window, and saw it's still dark out, miss Aerith must've noticed "there is no sun for this world, it's always dark" she told me. I only nod in understanding "thanks for the food miss Aerith" "oh just Aerith is fine" she said giving me a smile. I smile back as I finish my food. Afterwards, a knock on the door and someone walks in, a anthro dog my age. By the look of his face, he was in a similar situation of mine. "Uh, hey" he held out his hand "I'm Max" I grab his hand and shake it "Patch, nice to meet you"
