The Abyss

For it is man's nature to shroud everything in darkness. It is in every man's heart to show how well they can coat even the purest light in the darkest abyss. Why do we do this?

We find love, but we turn it to hate, jealousy, and suffering. We find happiness, but we turn it into anger, aggression, and depression. It is my witnessing to man's thirst for what it longs for most, its cupidity for blood, death, darkness. We call ourselves creatures of the night, some of us call ourselves beacons of light, but we know not what we are. We flutter around, gasconading about our superiority of other beings, how we show our lust for new ways of destruction upon our own lives. Can we ever learn to love?

Yes, of course we can. It is in man's nature to spread the word of darkness, but it is in its nature as well to rebel. A man himself carries his own light with love. Have I found a light that would fend off my darkness? Yes. It is a light that I have acquired that shields me from the world, it is a light so bright that the creatures of this world are frightened to even try and penetrate it. With her, I feel unencumbered, my heart can soar to whatever height or depths I see fit, I can run, feel the wind in my hair or letting the cool earth comfort my thoughts as her purity rests on my chest.

It's only in my mind, with thoughts of darkness and madness, is her light viewed a curse, a world in which I am nothing but a toy collecting dust on a shelf. My mind makes me feel as if I am no use, that the world in which we share drifts apart. It is only her reassurance that grants me power every day. Her embrace that grants me strength over my abyss. How can we conclude that we inspire hope or happiness, when we ourselves are incapable of shedding light on our own?

It is simply an answer that on person has, and another a different conclusion. I have an answer that is probably common amongst many, but it is my only refuge against the shadow that attempts to engulf my light. You, whom has a life, a reason to live and a light. Look upon it, do not allow your abyss to command your light and shadow your happiness! Take upon the responsibility you have in the battle of the abyss and take your light. Please. Show me a world without darkness. A world in which sadness and suffering does not exist.

I have been shown my world.
