Open Heart Headcanons (Ethan Ramsey x Valerie Valentine)

The Spider

Ethan and Valerie would be at his apartment of course. And id guess most likely this would happen when they've moved in together.

Valerie would be in the bathroom, doing her hair because, y'all know how it is, natural hair (black / mixed girl hair) is hard to take care of.

Ethan would be reading a book in his room (that I've always imagined to be ajoined to the bathroom, an ensuite basically). Suddenly, E would hear a scream from the bathroom, and immediately jump up and go inside.

"V?! Are you-"

She'd be staring in horror and slowly moving backwards as a spider sits on the edge of the sink.

"E, you did not tell me when I moved in with you that I'd be moving in with that too!" She'd whisper loudly through gritted teeth as if it could hear her

Still standing behind her, he'd take her by the shoulders and say "um...well, how do we... catch it?"

"I don't know! I'm not going near it!"

Theyd look to eachother, and back to the spider that sat there silently as E says "maybe if we nudge if into the sink it will climb down the drain?"

"And just how will we do that if neither of us are going to touch it?" She'd raise a brow.

"...wait here."

He'd let go of her shoulders and go back to their room as v watches on nervously. A moment later E would re appear with a long wooden stick (the kind used to open windows that are high up)

"Okay. Whose doing this?"

"You are!"

"Christ.* He'd sigh and move around her.

"Be careful E..."

This time she'd grip his shoulders, peering over his shoulder on her tip toes as slowly they inched closer, stick in hand.

And once they got close enough, with the stick, very cautiously, E would poke the spider, making V jump a little when the 8 legged beast twitched.

"Again." She'd say.

He'd poke it again, wincing just a little as the spider started to slip off the lip of the sink and into the bowl. But it would try to cling on.

"This feels too much like the lion king."

He'd look to v and she'd look to him before he smiled and shook his head, giving one last small poke, sending the spider tumbling to the basin.

"Long live the king." She'd whisper.

For a moment they'd watch in agonised silence, waiting for it to appear. And when it didn't, with the stick, they'd tip toe forwards, V still holding onto Ethan.

Together, they'd peer into the sink....

And sigh relief when it wasn't there.

"See, nothing to-"

And just as they stood up straight again...

It would be on the mirror Infront of them, making them scream and run back to the bedroom, closing the bathroom door behind them.

A time later, after calling Bryce, he'd exit from the bathroom with his hands cupped together.

"You were really scared of this little guy?"

He'd go to show them and they'd both say "no!"

Bryce would raise his brow and e would say "you're um...a surgeon. With...delicate hands, you can take care of it without hurting it. So, please. Can you take it outside?"

"Sure thing Ramsey, sure thing." He'd chuckle.

And as Bryce went to the balcony to put the spider somewhere safer ( for both vamseys sake and the spiders sake) e would get back onto the bed, and v would curl up under his arm.

"... little." She'd scoff.

"I know. It was..."

"Easily the size of tangerine."

"Yeah. Easily."

They'd look to eachother again, before clearing there throats, and e picking up his book once more.

And I suppose we'll never know just how big or small that spider truly was....
