My prompt: "I'm a big girl, I can handle it myself."
Pairing: Genderbent Codywan (because I hate the phrase "big boy" lol) (also they aren't really together it's more of a crush thing)
Trigger/content warning: Gore (mostly eye gore, not in great detail but in some detail), blood, death, and an argument.

"Cassandra!"

Obi Wan didn't know what to do. All her other allies were safe, mostly unharmed. But Cassandra...she had been out on her own when the attack hit. No one to back her or warn her. Was she dying, or dead already? The general felt like she was going insane. Every possible chance to find her was wasting time. Obi Wan just hoped she could find her commander before it was too late, hurrying to the last known location before the attack. She didn't hear anyone trying to pull her out of the panicked search.

"Cassandra!"

Giving up wasn't an option anymore. The Jedi didn't want to lose her closest friend, the woman who'd saved her life so many times. She couldn't give up on her. She refused. Cassandra's life was just as important as anyone else's, and to give up on her felt like betrayl. Obi Wan felt tears stab her eyes, taking a deep breath. She needed to be calm, especially if she found her friend injuried.

"General?"

Obi Wan rushed to the sound of the voice, falling over in her panic to reach it. Her eyes widened at the sight of Cassandra. Her armor was broken up, stabbing into her skin. Her face was a bloody mess, the Jedi feeling sick when she saw the main source of it. The commander's eye was absolutely soaking in it, so bad that Obi Wan couldn't tell the source. Part of her didn't want to know the source, trying not to vomit. But now she could get help...

"General, is that you?"

"It's me, you're okay now. I'm gonna get you out of here, hold on."

It'd only been a minute and already Obi Wan felt like time was running out. Maybe it was. The smell of blood made her feel dizzy, her stomach churning.

"Is everyone else okay?"

"Yes, I made sure of that before finding you."

Two minutes. The Jedi wanted to scream. Her head was spinning now. The metallic smell was just so strong...
She was distracted from the sickening smell by Cassandra trying to get up, more blood seeping out at the movement from...from everywhere.

"Commander, stay where you are, help will come here."

"General Kenobi, I'm a big girl, I can handle it myself."

Obi Wan shook her head. Stubbornness was such a common trait in the people she cared for. Carefully, the Jedi placed her hands on the commander's shoulders. They were the least injuried place from what she could see. Cassandra weakly fought the caring move, her hands barely even gripping Obi Wan's arms.

"Cassandra please. Just focus on staying awake, you're wasting energy."

"General I can walk. I don't want to keep you from more important things."

"You're important, damnit! To me! To your family!"

Cassandra's voice was getting weaker. Obi Wan grit her teeth, looking back the way she came. Were they really so far away from everyone...? The Jedi let out a scream, so many emotions mixing it into the call of a grief filled woman.

"It'll be better for you if you just...leave."

"I'm not leaving you."

"Please, Obi Wan."

The Jedi felt a tear fall down her face at her friend's begging tone. Cassandra sounded so begging, so pained. Bloody tears ran down her face, Obi Wan quick to brush them aside. She shifted, now laying next to the commander. Her commander. Her friend...

"I'm staying. I can't do much but perhaps having a friend with you can make the pain lessen?"

Cassandra didn't respond. Obi Wan was too scared to try to get a response or even look. She stayed on the bloody and metal covered ground next to her friend, freely crying. Her heart felt like glass thrown to the ground, choked sobs the only sound she could make. She lost Cassandra, the one she trusted so, the one she loved...the one she tried so hard to save.
