An Unexpected Visit

Chapter 1

Hey guys! 

So, this is my first book I'm actually letting other people see, so yay me! This is unedited, and I would really appreciate it if you would let me know if something doesn't makes sense or if there is a typo or something like that. 

This is a kinda romance book(has action too) written for my friend so just warning. It is also a fan-fiction. Percy Jackson fan-fiction to be specific.

The characters are owned by Rick Riordan and yeah.

This will probably alternate between Amnabeth and Percy's POV, but I don't know. It may just be Annabeth POV.

I will post on a random and inconsistent schedule{if I even end up having a schedule} so please have patience! I have a lot of work to do and I don't have time to just write all day every day(even though that's what I really want to). It could take me a while to write another chapter; I will try to post every week but there will be some weeks where I can't post that week. I will let you know when said weeks occur.

Now that I've got all of that out of the way, I should probably let you read the the first chapter, so here you go!

Chapter 1-A's POV

I sat quietly in the bay window in my bedroom overlooking the San Francisco sunset. I wanted to enjoy the view, but I couldn't, not after today. I was completely plagued with the guilt of knowing that I was putting my family in constant danger. I have to leave. 

~4 hours earlier~

"Boys, please! We don't have time to play at the park today. We have to get home!" 

Bobby and Matthew looked at me with pleading eyes. Every day after school I would pick them up from school and we would go to the park. They didn't understand why they couldn't play today. 

"Guys please," I knelt down to look directly at their faces, grabbed their hands, and gave them a gentle squeeze. "we need to get back to the house now. Your mommy is waiting for you." 

That was a lie. Helen was expecting them back later, as usual, not knowing we weren't stopping to play at the park. The truth was that I felt we were being watched. Maybe even followed. We were on a reasonably private path, which led to a street only a block away from our house. If only we could get there faster, but the boys were lagging behind. I saw a girl standing on the grass just off the path. She seemed to be watching us, and I knew that I needed to get the boys home. Immediately. 

With just a glance my suspicions were confirmed. We were being followed, and not just by anyone. We were being followed by one of Luke’s-no, Kronos’ minions. Luckily not a Demigod. This was definitely a monster. An Empusa, to be exact. Percy had told me that he had encountered some of them before in the form of cheerleaders with mismatched legs. 

“Annie! Whatcha looking at?” Bobby asked. I fixed my eyes on the boys and forced a smile. I dropped their hands as I stood up, ruffling their hair. “Nothing buddy. Come on, let’s go home and get some ice cream!”

That got their attention. I laughed as they jumped up and down with cheers. “Okay then let’s-” I looked up and let a small, sharp gasp. The Empusa was maybe six feet from us, slowly advancing. 

“Oh, why, boys! Why wait when you can get ice cream from over there?” The Blond Empusa asked. The boys turned, and she pointed over to an ice cream cart that another Empusa was selling treats at. She looked just like her friend. She had the same dark eyes, blond hair, and appeared to be the same height. 

“Can we?” Bobby and Matthew asked me at the same time. 

“Yes, Annabeth Chase. Can we?” The first Empusa asked.
