" Look at you, just glowing'" I told Chanel on FaceTime. She has been in New York with Dave goin on four days now. " I'm so glad that our plan worked, you look so happy. I'll check on you later" I said to Chanel as she blushed harder than ever before ending the FaceTime call.
On the other hand, I was getting ready for my date with Clarence. We've been spending a lot of time together ever since that night at the club. I've been liking him every since 10th grade when him and Dave moved down here from New York. The funny thing is Clarence never knew that I liked him just as much as he liked me.
Thinking back on that day.... 9/22/2014
"Yooo" "aye girl so you don't hear me huh?" He said. "Boy who the fuck you call yo' self talkin to?" Chanel turned around to say staring at Clarence who was standing next to Dave. From that moment I couldn't stand him . I hated a rude nigga. Don't aye girl me . Unfortunately Chanel and Dave started dating in 11th grade which caused everyone to hang out together.
I had to play hard to get you know.. chuckles !
Crazy how things change. Clarence isn't the same loud immature person he use to be. He was always good looking though, I could never take that away from him. Although Ive known Clarence for years I was still nervous about this date. I wasn't sure what to wear but I knew I had pick something fast. Looking back at the clock in my room it was now 7:58pm. I needed to be dressed by 8:30. "Fuckkk" I said as I picked up my phone to Group FaceTime Tiffani and Chanel.
"Slimeeee" Chanel spoke into the phone "I need yall help, picking my outfit for tonight " I said. "No not LaRae need help picking an outift" Tiffani said in a joking manner. Laughing I responded "Cmon yall I aint got that much time, and u wanna play Tiff. " Flip the camera around so we can see yo" Chanel chuckled. "Aight so which one? The pink fit or the nude sweater with the black leather skirt? I might throw on this bucket hat with that too."
" What jacket you gone put on with the pink? Chanel asked I knew that meant she was leaning more towards that outfit. "The vest tiffani brought me for my birthday last y-" before i could finish the sentence they both said "well wear that." "Okay muah" I said as I blew them a kiss before hanging up.
Luckily my make up was already done so all I had to do was put on my clothes and touch up my hair. *buzz buzz buzz* I heard my phone vibrating "Hello" I said as I slid my finger across the screen as I answered . "Yo I'm 5 mins away don't take all day LaRae" Clarence said into the phone. "I'm almost ready I'm curling my hair" " I won't take long I promise, okay gotta go bye" I laughed and hung up the phone.
10 minutes later
"Damn ma you looking nice as hell" Clarence said as I walked out my building entrance. "Thanks. can you take my picture? I asked while blushing. I loved when Clarence took my pictures. He was a photographer. So y'all know these pictures was about to be lit.

"Here ya go" "Don't start posting these til after tonight I wana enjoy how good you look by myself for once" Clarence said laughing while passing me back my phone . "Yes sir" I said while biting my lip. I always teased him we never even kissed before tho. " Don't be biting yo lip like that, you think I aint see that" Clarence side eyed me while opening the car door for me.
"Where we going" I asked as I playfully hit him. " The way you dressed we might have to change plans" he said. "why what's wrong with my outfit Clarence I said offensively "Girl chill out, we going to top golf." "I was going to take you to Navy Pier afterwards but we can go another time since you don't have comfortable shoes on" he said.

It was now 10:52pm and Clarence & I were just leaving top golf. I enjoyed myself even tho I can't play golf to save my life . As we're walking to the car my stomach started feeling bubbly. I wasn't sure if it was my nerves or the food that I ate. I said a quick pray to God because this was not the time for me to have the bubble guts.
"Do you still wanna go downtown to Navy Pier?" Clarence asked me. " Hmmm I'm not sure, I had a lot of fun and my feet don't feel like engaging in long distance walks" I said. "Aight that's cool, we can go next week" he said. " I see you making plans, making sure you keep me around huh?" I asked as I watched him drive.
I haven't been in a relationship for over 5 years. I definitely forgot how it felt to actually enjoy someone's time outside of the bedroom. I was smiling so hard in my head, but I wouldn't dare let him know how much I really liked him. I also wasn't sure if that's what Clarence even wanted.
As we pulled in my complex building parking lot, he got out to let me out. " Thank you, and Thank you for taking me out tonight. I had a great time" I told him as I reached out to give him a hug. "You welcome ma" he replied as he embraced me in the hug. At that moment, everything in me was fighting back the urge to ask this man to come upstairs with me.
Pulling back from the hug Clarence placed a kiss on my forehead. Which made me put my guard down for some reason, to hell with it I thought to myself. "Do you wanna come upstairs with me?" I asked.
