chapter 1

"98, 99, 100....." she says as she wakes up in a completely new universe. we're not kidding when we say 'a completely new universe' , because she just shifted into an alternate reality she made, she desired.

juri hops off the taxi as she arrives at a very small neighborhood.

walking across the street, as she has scripted.

but something goes wrong. she was supposed to bump into him by now. looking around, she tries to figure out why her quote unquote desired reality isn't going as she had scripted. come to think about it, the timing is off. she was supposed to arrive earlier, there wasn't supposed to be traffic on the way either.

juri started to worry, this had never happened to her before. this was new and she didn't know what was causing it nor did she know how to stop it. pacing around back and forth, she started to have a difficulty breathing, her hands were shaking, bullets of sweat were dripping from her forehead. she was having a panic attack.

someone bumped into her, "im sorry." he said as the man walked away in a rush. for some odd reason, that man helped her get back to her senses, she had calmed down and took deep breaths.

suddenly, the brunette girl hears a commotion "IS THERE A DOCTOR AROUND" a woman cries for help.

rushing over, she sees people crowded around him. she couldn't believe her eyes, she always wanted to see him, even if she had to create a different reality. to her disappointment, they didn't meet like how she scripted it. she was supposed to bump into him and they were supposed to get a drink at the cafe together. instead he's laying on the ground unconscious on the verge of dying.

she did notice that he wore the outfit according to the script, a white turtleneck under a gray hoodie, black trousers and converse shoes. and a ring with a flower engraved in it, hung in a necklace.

there was a problem though, he was faceless.

"where did i go wrong?"

she lost her calm again, trying to remember what she had to do to get out. she was shaking, sweating profusely. she closed her eyes trying to get her thoughts straight. but when juri opened her eyes, she was back to her universe. wet from sweat.

she left her room, getting a glass of water. glancing over to the clock, she notices she's only been asleep for an hour. with nothing to do and no ability to sleep after that fiasco, she decided to take a warm bath and go for a walk in the park to get some fresh air.

it hadn't even been 5am yet but her day was already eventful.

"i wouldn't have recognized him if it weren't for the promise ring."

"it didn't even go according to script, i was lucky enough that he wore the exact outfit i chose for him" she mumbled to herself.

the girl walks back home to her empty house. she was an only child and her parents had left her there while they went to america for their jobs, they used the excuse; "we're doing this for you" and "you can take care of yourself, you're old enough" when really they're doing this because of their greed for materialistic things.

juri always felt alone, she never got to experience things that were considered part of your "childhood", she didn't go to the park with her parents eating ice cream and petting the dogs or have those kindergarten crushes like what all the main characters in stories did.

she felt like she had no one to rely on but herself

it was sad, but she was used to it. you could say she was numb to the empty feeling.

despite the hectic start of her day, she got ready to go to school.

"AHN JURIIIIIII!!!!" she heard someone scream

"YENNIEEE!!!" she screamed back, gaining the attention of everyone in the corridors of her school.

yennie is juri's best friend at school, yang vyein. she's been called yennie since juri isn't capable of pronouncing her name correctly.

everyone loves vyein, she was pretty, smart, athletic and is a filial daughter. she was the "it girl".

while juri was known as "vyein's best friend", she delivered gifts and letters to her from multiple guys, many have tried to befriend her just to get to vyein too. but of course, she didn't get naive and let anyone do that.

"did you both just forget about me" another voice spoke. "why am i always third wheeling you two"

"shut up and let me spend time with my girlfriend!" vyein clung to juri and giggled, making guys turn their heads to her and smile at her being cute.

"oh hey baejin i didn't notice you were there" juri smiled.

"you never do" he rolled his eyes while the two laughed

bae jinyoung, he's the other third of vyein's whole friendship triangle. though she has many friends, the two of them are her main hoes. yes, hoes.
he's envied by the boys at school because he's close to vyein and girls fall in love with him left and right.

but a lot of people ship him and vyein, they say that they would've been a power couple if they dated, or that "guys and girls can't be friends" "there's something between them"

oh and of course, the cliques

this isn't high school without cliques am i right?

of course, there's the nobodies, the nerds, the jocks, the gamers, the goths, and then there's cix and cignature.

cix is a group of four boys, byounggon, seunghun, yonghee and of course, jinyoung. they're all popular, tall, talented and very good looking.

cignature is a group of 8 girls, chaesol, haeun, yeonjung, hyunju, semi, vyein and the 2 jiwons; hwang ji and kim ji. like cix, they're pretty and everyone's favorites.

"alright class settle down!" the teacher said "i would like to introduce you to a new student"

// alright! that's all for first chapter 😭😭 im sorry if this was a mess, i suck at writing. but hey! i finally wrote chapter one after starting this book months ago.
