Chapter 1

Ace shot up with a start, his hand shooting up to touch what he thought was a hole in his chest. Though, he was pleasantly surprised and confused when he felt nothing there. Ace took this time to survey his surroundings, he noted he was in an unfamiliar environment - a house.

He noticed he was on a couch and glanced to the right of his body. They're sitting on the table was an envelope with the words 'READ ME' written in bold lettering. He reached over and picked up the letter. Upon, opening it he noticed his name at the top of the letter and read it.

Dear Gol D. Ace,

You may wonder why and where you are, and I'll be explaining that to you in a moment. First, why you are in this world is because I believe you deserve a second chance.

You didn't deserve to die the way you did, especially at such a young age. Though, that is not your fault. It was unfair for you to die in punishment of your lineage.

Second, you are in a different world, a world that uses the power of quirks instead of Devil Fruits. Although they sound different, they are almost the same. This world is also a lot different from what you are used to. There is a bunch of new technology than what was in your old world.

Now, I would explain to you how quirks came to be, but the letter would be way too long. So, I placed books on the bookshelves, explaining the world and how it came to be. You are currently in a place called Musutafu, Japan.

You'll be attending the hero course at U.A. High, you're probably confused about what that is. That will be explained in the books I provided. The house you are in is officially yours. Since you have no parents in this world, you will live on your own.

To explain your quirk, if anybody asks, your quirk is called 'Flame.' You can do everything with it you did previously. Your weaknesses will be transffered to this world as well. But I will still explain them.

Water makes you weak and you still can't swim. Sea stone is still a weakness, but it isn't known or used in this world, so you won't have to worry about it. Magma will also be a weakness of yours.

In this world, quirks have things called drawbacks. You will also have a drawback.

- When you overuse your flames, your body will overheat and you'll get a fever.

- Along with the fever, you will get symptoms such as sweating, headaches, and irritability.

Now, to finish this letter because it's way too long. I have aged you down to 15 years old. Your tattoos will remain on your body as well. I know that if they had disappeared, you would freak out.

You had to be aged down to fit into this world. All the paperwork to attend U.A. has been taken care of. I made a note to tell them about your narcolepsy and your enormous appetite.

I hope you will love your second chance; you deserve it, Ace.

P.S. You will go by your birth name, Gol D. Ace. Nobody here can judge your lineage now, and you shouldn't be ashamed, either.

Ace stared down at the letter in shock, his eyes filling with tears. The tears ran down his face quickly, and before he knew it, he was bawling his eyes out.

They gave him a second chance to live a proper life, one where he didn't have to worry about dying for who his parents were.

Though he was happy, he still couldn't help but worry about Luffy. He had the right to; Ace had died in Luffy's arms. He knew his death traumatized his little brother.
