Everybody has their own opinion on alcoholism/drug addiction, but until you've been there, your opinion means nothing. Yes, they chose to use a substance thinking they would be the one that would be able control it. But in most cases... "You don't, it controls you!" There are some lucky ones who have beat their habit, but don't think because they're still alive, that life is gravy. They fight everyday, all day to stay clean and sober. It's a constant battle from the time they open their eyes until they close them, and it never goes away. Most are good people who made a bad choice. Battling any addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who are still struggling. I am a Person in Recovery !..... I build .... I don't tear down or shame  other Recovering addicts    ! ....I have felt the pain of being torn down and shamed. I have decided I will be deliberate about building others UP! After all it's what i. I tried to pick people. All too often, we find it easier to criticize each other , instead of building each other up.

Special note to those that still conquer it, you know who you are... Congratulations... Keep up the good work...
