Chapter 1: Take Thee Away
Elena's POV:
"Oh right there.." A quiet moan escaped my lips as I felt an all too familiar feeling begin to stir in the pit of my stomach. My lips parted and my finger found themselves running and tearing the pale flesh of my boyfriend, Avery. Each movement only intensified the feeling, and I knew I was ready to climax. As the hot feeling continued to grow, more moans escaped my pink lips, almost mimicking a melodic song. Alas, he finished as I was about to. He fell to his side, breath pants escaping his full lips, and once again I was left unsatisfied. I turned to my side and faced Avery, a neutral smile forming. "Did you enjoy it, darling?" His thick accent stirred the feeling once again in the pit of my stomach. I placed a wet kiss on his neck and he chuckled. "You always leave me breathless, Elena." He ran his finger through my matted hair. "I know." I said, and soon sat up.
I looked around at the wooden walls that surrounded my small family home. There were three bedrooms, but they were the size of a small closet. I sighed and let the smokey scent fill my nostrils. I loved the smell of my small comfortable home. There was nothing like it. Although we were in the poorest part of the kingdom, we still made do. My father was a blacksmith, my mother a tailor, and I worked with taking care of all the children in the village. I grabbed my cotton shirt and threw it over my chest. I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist and I giggled. "Avery," I spun on my heels and looked at my gorgeous boyfriend. "Yes my love?" He said, staring into my boring brown eyes. "I love you." I mumbled. His smile widened like a silly jester. "I love you more, my sweet rose princess." I chuckled and pulled away. "Princess?" I shook my head. "I'd rather be fed to a giant than ever be a stuck up princess whore." I spat.
Avery chuckled and finished dressing himself.
"Don't be so bitter dear. You know if anyone heard you saying this outside of the cabin you would be hung by your neck." He mentioned, tying the laces on his shoes. I looked at him and rose an eyebrow. "And why do you think they would hang me?" I said, rolling my eyes. A small pigeon landed on the window sill and gave a look in my direction. I stared at its small bead-like eyes. "Hello." I whispered to it. The bird seemed to pull me into a trance, but I was quickly snapped out of it once Avery tapped my shoulder. The bird screeched and flew away. A frown fell upon my lips. "You scared it away." I pouted and faced my god-like boyfriend. He smiled, sending butterflies to my stomach. I felt my face begin to grow hot, and looked at the ground. "I'm going to miss you." He whispered.
I felt warm tears leave my eyes.
I placed my hand on his shoulder and sighed. "I won't be gone for long, Avery. It'll only take a couple of weeks. You know I promised my mother." I mumbled. He wrapped his strong arms around me once more and placed a light feathered kiss on the top of my head. "I know. I just wish we could run far away from this vile kingdom and start our own journey." A giggle left my rosy lips. "We wouldn't make it past the dyke wall. We'd be giant food." I said, and felt my body stiffen. "I'd rather be that than work for the palace." Avery tightened his grip and tilted my head upwards and smiled sadly. Reaching on my tip toes, I placed my petals against him for a single last time.
3 hours later..
Bidding goodbye to my family was the most painful experience I'd ever encounter. Not even breaking my arm compared to the pain I felt leaving my family behind. My mother was supposed to be in my place but her heart is too weak to work under stressful conditions, so I volunteered to replace her. The carriage ride over to the sinful palace only made an uneasy feeling worsen in my stomach. Tears were still falling from my eyes as I stared at the scenery displayed in front of me. Countless of meadows surrounded the roads and dandelions grew at least a foot tall. Children could be seen playing from afar, but the sound of their laughter was so close, reminding me of my home. A tight knot made its way up my throat as a sob tried escaping my lips. My petals trembled and I let my head fall into my hands. I miss my family so much.
"Erm.."
My head quickly shot up, causing me to bump it against the head of the carriage. "Ow.." I placed my palm on the injury. I had totally dismissed that there was a man riding along with me. The hooves of the horse planting against the road soon filled the now silent ride. "My apologies, ma'am." The man said, looking worrisome. I chuckled and shook my head. I must look like a maniac! I shot a look into the reflection of the window and was correct. My hair was frizzy and tangled, my eyes were bloodshot red and the under bags were as swollen as a bee sting. my lips were filled with what seemed to be mucous and as well tears. I quickly wiped my tears and nose with a handkerchief my father gave to me. "No, no do not apologize! I should be apologizing for the mess you're seeing." I said, feeling quite embarrassed.
The man rose an eyebrow then proceeded to move closer to me. I began scooting farther until my back hit the door. "Are you afraid I might do something, Miss Elena?" I gasped. How did he know my name? I swallowed the tight knot and shook my head. "You're just awfully close, sir." I whispered. He smiled sheepishly. "I've been assigned to take care of you, being that you're serving under the princess. She doesn't want her property hurt or damaged when they arrive. They must be proper and clean." My jaw fell open. Who the HELL did this princess think she was? I am not some property to ANYONE! I scoffed. "I am most certainly clean." I spat and looked out the window. A tall, grey brick wall soon surrounded us and I knew we were close.
We were in the richer part of the village, where the wannabe royals live. The kingdom is divided into three sections, all of them being surrounded by a dyke wall that protects us from the harmful giants that take living in the close forest nearby. The three sections are divided by the income the villagers make. The poorest county is the Grounding, being that it is closer to the wall. The village is surrounded by tailors, blacksmith, jesters, and the homeless. Grounding is usually always attacked by the giants and other mystical creatures. Our village has the most death tolls, most diseases, and is heavily populated by criminals.
The second part of the kingdom is the Krillings, which is in the middle of the kingdom. Rarely any crops or plants grow in the Krillings, being that it rarely rains and there are no body of waters near the village. Usually, those with a higher income and have some true blood running through their veins live in the village and are provided with water for their plants and crops. And finally, the last village, the one we were in, is called the Founders. The richest villagers who are members of the the true blood family line. The Founders are filled with nonstop ballroom dances, the most exotic parties year round, and they have the best materials of all the villages.
I rolled my eyes as the villagers, who were dressed in all types of weird clothing, were filling the streets. Bombarded by emotion and stress, I hid my head into my hands. "Are you afraid?" The man spoke and I groaned. "Not one bit." I lied. In all honesty, I was terrified. I heard the rumors of the type of family that I would be serving. They were vile creatures and heartless. They killed anyone who breathed the wrong way and show no mercy. Some of the spies that live in the Founders have told us that they aren't human, but something worse. I shuddered. "My name is Felix." The man spoke once more. Finally, I looked at the man who is 'going to be taking care of me.'
He had beautiful brown curly locks that fell right below his ears. His eyes were the prettiest green eyes I have ever laid my eyes on. They reminded me of moss on a beautiful stone near the river Avery and I swam in. His stature was lean, but of course bulky. He had freckles covering every inch of his face and body. Most would say that freckles are unnatural looking, but they remind me of a story my father told me. To sum it up, basically each freckle that laid upon your skin, was a kiss from an angel. "Do I have something on my face, Miss Elena?" Suddenly, I snapped out of my trance and felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment. "Uh no! I just like your freckles." I said, sheepishly. Felix chuckled and shook his head.
Suddenly, the carriage came to a halt. Felix smirked and looked my way. "Alright Miss Elena, time to get the show on the road." My eyebrow shot up in confusion. "What does that mean?" I asked, but then the carriage doors shot wide open. I gasped as suddenly I was pulled from the carriage. A scream left my lips and I began to fight against the tall man who held me. I kicked and shot my fists where I could, but I was soon restrained. I looked up at the tall, Victorian palace. My heart began thumping rapidly. It was now time to face the Petrova's.
