A hot atmosphere. Burnt our cars. Buildings were exploding. I feel sweat drip down the side of my bruised cheek. Where am I?... Where am I?...What's happened? I keep asking myself. The evidence was unfolding around me. The light cut through the shadows like knives.
I clambered to my feet, barely able to stand up as the blood gushed down my fractured leg. Beep...beep...BEEP. A strange noise in the distance, getting louder as I walked towards it. An old cell phone led on the floor next to a brown, dirty, rusty car, as if it was dead. I pick up the phone trying to get it to turn on. "21/07/2090," the date of the phone made me freeze as I realised 60 years had passed since the day I died. How am I alive?
There was no signs of life surrounding me. Nobody was around, no animals, but no humans, no aliens, nothing. Everything seemed dead. I tapped into the phone a little deeper to see where I was. The last message sent was to someone who worked in the factory to my right. Warehouse 7 read the crooked sign. I strolled around for a while, found the entrance and walked in. All I could see was the gloomy darkness in front of me and I could hear strange noises coming from the depths below. Slowly and steadily... I walked forwards, trying to feel with my hands which way the corridor led. it seemed to go on forever until I stumbled over some broken glass and hit my head on the wall in front of me. A glass shard pun here's my skin as the pain shot through my body. Reaching up, I pulled it out of the wrist, ripping some cloth off of my top and using it to clot the blood which poured out. Clenching a railing, I stood up. Continuing my journey around the building.
A couple of hours had passed and I had finally got to the basement. the basement seemed darker somehow. Unexpectedly, a peculiar creature stood tall. 'It' didn't know I was behind the thing. I slowly crept back, trying not to gain its attention. Beep. The phone flashed white. Suddenly, the creature turned around, its big amber eyes stared into my small blue eyes. It had a large butterfly shaped head, an armoured body and was holding two swords. The creature hit me and I flew back and hit a wall. He ran over angrily as i was innocently trapped beneath a layer of decaying bodies. Bang, bang, bang! Three bullet shots punctured his chest plate and it fell to the ground.
"Are you ok?" A cloaked person in the distance said. He walked towards me and offered his arm out so I could rise to my feet. "Are you hurt? He said worryingly.
"No, I'm fine, thanks." I replied cautiously as the boys face uncovered in what little light we had to see in.
"I'm Robert." Pronounced the boy.
"I'm Katelyn, thank you for saving me. What was that creature?"
"That was a Vendral." The boy explained.
"There are a lot in this factory, you're lucky that I found you in time. You and I are the last survivors here." He continued on. "They are here to send messages to their alien spaceship in the world around us. The control panel was somewhere in this factory which is why I am here. I want to use it to connect back to the tower, which is where I cane from. When my ship crash landed here I couldn't repair it enough to get home, so I have been collecting materials to make it fly home. Since you're here, you can help me."We soldiered on through what was left of the day. Going down stairs and along corridors; a glow in the distance drew me in. It looked like a flashlight at first, but as I got closer, the glow descended.
"Where did it g..." My murmured voice stopped and that was it. Where am I? Where am I? What's happened? I opened my eyes,a hot atmosphere, buildings exploding...
