Zander's P.O.V.
Zander had finally sat down on his bench, and opened up his book. The book was Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. For Ms. Jones' English class, there were a handful of classic literature books, and everyone had to choose one to read. In general, even though it wasn't his go to genre, Zander still quite enjoyed classical books, and had read most of the ones there already. One of the only ones he hadn't was Frankenstein, so he just grabbed it. So far the book had been quite underwhelming, but he was hoping it would get better.
As Zander continued to read, he would look up at the soccer game every once in a while. At first it was just two groups of guys standing around, waiting for more people to show up. Eventually some more people came in, and they started playing. The team Jake was on wasn't doing good, mostly because Jake was spending his time soaking in the praise his fangirls gave him. It made Zander roll his eyes. Luke was on the opposite team. Luke, and this other guy Zander didn't recognize, were scoring most of the goals.
Zander was just about getting near the end of one of his book's chapters, when he heard footsteps heading in his direction. He glanced up to see Hailey standing in front of him.
"Whatcha reading?" Hailey asked, almost slowly drawing out the words.
"A book," Zander flatly responded.
"Haha, very funny," Hailey sarcastically stated.
"Actually, Hailey; I'm almost at the end of this chapter, so could we wait a second before talking?"
"What? Is that book so captivating that it's more important than your step-sister?"
"The book really isn't that captivating. I just want to finish the chapter."
Hailey sat down next to Zander on the bench, "Well you're gonna have to wait for me to leave. Don't worry, I'm up to bat soon."
"Ugh, fine," Zander closed his book, and placed it next to him, "What do you wanna talk about?"
"I was actually wondering what you thought about the song in rehearsal today."
"Oh, I get it. In rehearsals you act all shy about your singing skills, and now you're fishing for compliments."
Hailey blushed, "What? No! I meant what you thought about the lyrics more."
"They were nice."
"Just nice?"
"Yeah, they were good. What? It's not like Luke is a song writing prodigy. I'm not going to ramble about the lyrics for an hour or anything. He wrote good lyrics."
Hailey sighed, "Okay then," she then sat back up, "I'm going to go back to the baseball game. Enjoy that book."
"I'll try to." Zander watched Hailey walk back to the baseball game. Why was she being so weird about the song? Luke was being kind of weird earlier too. Oh God, what if I was right about Luke liking Hailey. Except they were somehow already together, and this song was their way of trying to tell me? No, no. I doubt it. I mean, they barely even hang out one on one. I just need to ask Luke about this whole weird song thing. That's the best thing to do.
With that thought, Zander opened up his book, and started reading again.

Luke's P.O.V.
Luke currently had the ball, and was kicking it across the field. He could tell someone was behind him, and close, and if he didn't try to score soon, they would get the ball. Taking a risk, Luke kicked the ball in an attempt to make a goal. He watched, and it went in. Barely. The goalie almost blocked it.
