chapter 2: first day

I walked into the school and the cold air hit my face automatically.

I was greeted by stares...but i didnt let that phase me.

Following a sign that said office down the hall i ended up at a big glass room.

I stood in front for a minute before walking in.

It smelled like glade fresheners and copy paper?

It wasnt 1 minute before a woman in her mid-30s approched me.

"Hi! Im Mrs. Mathews, the academic dean here at Baker High. You must be Lanie?" She spoke cheerily

"Hello." I gave a small smile "Im Lanie Adams"

"Welcome to Baker High" she walked as she spoke and motioned for me to follow.

She stopped in front of what i assumed was a classroom...i didnt even notice we left the office.

Mrs.Matthews handed me a green sheet of paper.

"Here is your schedule for the semester. This is your first class of the day, Ap US History."

I nodded and smiled and took the paper from her hand.

She walked away, with her heels clicking against the Tiled floors.

I took a big sigh and knocked on the big brown door.

A girl with long red hair answered the door.

She didnt speak, just moved to the side so i could walk in.

I looked at the classroom full of students, all eyes on me.

The male teacher spoke, "Ahh, you must be Ms. Adams. Come in please. You can sit beside Carmen" he smiled

The girl with the red hair smiled and raised her hand.

I went to sit beside her and she immediatly began speaking.

"Hi, im Carmen Asher. Welcome to Baker High" she spoke and gave a big smile.

"Hi, im Lanie Adams. Thank you" i gave her a small smile.

Carmen was beautiful, she had long red hair obviously an incredible dye job and big green eyes.. she had pretty carmel skin and freckels.

Halfway through the class Carmen turned to me and spoke

"You can sit with me at lunch if you want to" she smiled again.

"Ok, sure." I smiled at her.

Lunch Time

I walked into the crowded cafeteria.

Carmen waved me over,

"Lanie, Lanie!!" She called

I walked to her table, there were 4 other people there.

She introduced me,

Holly Graves

Micah Richards

Angie Banks

Riley Carey

They all smiled and complimented me.

We ate lunch fairly quietly and then the bell rang.

I only had one class left of the day, Statistics.

When i walked into the class, there was only one seat left beside a brown haired boy with a quiff.

I went to sit down and as i did he turned to face me.

"Hi?" I dont think ive seen you here before." He spoke with confidence.

"Umm, yeah i just moved here." I spoke a bit quietly.

"Well, are you gonna tell my your name pretty lady?" He asked, smirking.

"Lanie Adams" i looked at his big blue eyes.

"Well, Lanie, my name is Landon Mckinley. He winked.
