A-one, two, three, four...
I heard the singer said before the music started.
It has been 5 days since the talk I share with Okaa-chan. About my, ehm, crush on my own advisor. And ever since then, it was quite a living hell for me. I tried so hard not to show a thing to the man in question. My poker face is perfect, all thanks to, again, the man in question himself.
Honestly, I've been considering to bury myself somewhere every morning afterwards, the dreams I have lately haven't been so... holy.
I feel hopeless, mind can't tell the difference between dream and reality. Suddenly I felt like having schizophrenia. By definition. And in the good way... not the suicidal part.
'Come on, Tsuna. Get yourself together! Control your poker face, for god damn sake.'
Reborn's Birthday Party is finally here. I couldn't ruin this.
Subtly looking around, I ponders where the party boy has disappeared to because I swear he was around.
'Ah, there he is!'
Along with Kaa-chan. She's currently handing him her gift. Pretty sure, she asked him to open the gift. I momentarily forgot the fact that she has switched her gift into a hand-knitted ear muffs instead.
oh no...
he's...
"He's smiling" I mutters lower than a whisper.
Everything you do, it sends me higher than the moon.
With every twinkle in your eye you strike a match that lights my heart on fireThe sparkles in his eyes has caught my breath. Goddamnit. Kaa-chan did that on purpose.
Internally cursing for my dearest mother, I find myself scrambles. Well, not actually running like what my younger self would have 100% done in this situation. Remembering how I was with Kyoko-chan ages ago. It would have been worse than just tripping over nothing actually.
Oh, Kami, Thank goodness that Reborn had taught me better than that. The Vongola Don, tripped over nothing because of a crush over his former tutor. Highlights!
Shuddering at the thought, I shook my head again, snapping myself off the train of thoughts I was in before then making my way to him. Only to I realize that the person I've been looking has disappeared. Again.
Groaning softly, my eyes scanned around for any sign of that spawn of devil. It shouldn't have been so hard considering there's only Vongola and close Alliances that's invited tonight. There's less than 100 people, surely it would be easy to spot one black amongst all of these glistering outfits.
Whilst in mid of my task, I accidentally bumped to someone as I turned around.
"Dame-Tsuna"
When you're near, I hide my blushing face and trip on my shoelaces
I could sense my face heating up. Too obvious. I don't dare to look up. No. Not yet.
Breathe, 'Tsuna, breathe!' Fixing my composure. I lifted my head, smiling rather sheepish like I normally would.
"Ah, Reborn. Sorry for crashing on you. Glad you didn't bring any drink I could spill on, eh?" I chuckled softly on my own attempt to crack my nervousness.
"You wouldn't be so lucky on escaping my shots then, Dame-Tsuna."
I laughed awkwardly because he's right. Had I spilled a drink on his favorite suit, and on his birthday? forget about the book, He would have killed me on the spot.
"Anyway," Trying to dodge the bullet, I tried to switch the topic, "I was trying to find you, actually"
"Oh?" He arched a brow, and, a-and Fuck, he's smirking.
...dear Kami-sama, 'please give me some strength!'
"Yep~ Wanna hand you my gifto~" I grinned.
"Speaks correctly, Dame-Tsuna. Don't make me re-tutor you Italian on my own birthday" he scowls while I huffed
"Have some slack, geez!" I retorted. "There's only people we know. No bugs, no paparazi. It's fine. And stop scowling, or else you'll have permanent wrinkles like this" I goofily demonstrated with my fingers on my own forehead.
"That would never happen, my awesome genes won't let me look less than hot~" I mean, he's not wrong.
Still, "Yeah, yeah, now can you just accept this little present from yours truly?" I said, eyes formed one of puppy eyes. I know it always tickle him when I do that.
"Well, Why don't you just pile it up like the others over there?" He pointed at the Table stationed next to the ginormous cake that's indeed used to stack up all of the gift.
"I didn't because I'm 100% sure you wouldn't want this to get stolen. It's the one and only" I proudly said while flexing the box a bit before then pushing it onto his direction. "Here ya go~"
Accepting the present, My heart skipped a beat when our skin brushed.
—Too loud, My heart is pounding too loud! For heaven sake! H-He'll hear it...!!!
"A book?"
I flamboyantly put a finger on my lips as I winked "better keep that one close now, birthday boy~"
"Don't even try to use your seducing skill on me, Dame-Tsuna" He rolled his eyes but clearly amused, "Anyhow, Can I open this now?"
"Well, it is yours." I said in a matter of fact, "Besides, would you even listen if I say no?"
"Glad you've learned your lesson, Dame-Tsuna" He cheekily said while it's my turn to roll my eyes playfully.
Checking on the covers, I know that those keen eyes has caught the subtle clues I left on and realized exactly what type of book it is. "My oh my, a Phantom Author behind my back now?" the left side of his lips twitched upwards while I just shrugs it off casually.
"Not my choice of career but like I said, I hope you'll enjoy it... no thoughts needed" Adding in soft whisper there's another glint on his eyes. Oh my god, he's actually interested??
"Welp, now that's my business here is down. shall I blend as Townspeople B again now~" I chuckled a bit, patting his shoulder before walking, well, fleeing off the screen.
...HoLy ShiT tHat WaS nErvE wrEcKinG....
I let out the breath that I have been subconsciously hold back since... I wasn't sure myself. But if anything, I have zero doubt that he has noticed. My acting skill could only do so much. And against the greatest hitman, the one who taught me? I'm confident he would connects the dots soon. The man is smart, unlike me.
Then again, what can I say?
Grace just isn't my forté...
