After you both got in the car, the ride was silent once again. Still, you didn't think it was awkward. It had only been a few days, but you were already starting to feel like yourself around the boy. You felt as if you had known him for years because you started blushing less, talked more, and joked around with him. Maybe feelings do evolve fast, but you didn't just want to bombard him with your emotions. Not yet, not right now, not while things were going good.
"So where are we going?" you asked him, looking out of the car window.
"It's a surprise Y/N, did I not mention that?"
"No, you said, and I quote 'I want to show you a place I know very well.'"
"Oh. I guess I didn't. Anyways, I think you'll like it, I promise it'll be fun."
"Is it really now? What do you know about fun, mister 'everything I say is true and serious'."
"I know fun. I think you forget I hang out with Bokuto."
"Touché. Fair enough, since it's a surprise, i'm going to take a nap. Goodnight."
"Goodnight weirdo."

You fluttered your eyes open to see neon red and blue signs everywhere. Children running across the street, and children coming back with change in their hands. Part of you was very confused as to why he would take you to such a childish place, another part of you was glad because you hadn't been to an arcade in years.
"You up Y/N?" he asked with a grin on his face as he watched the red and blue lights reflect off your face.
"Yeah, give me a second," you mumbled, rubbing your eyelids to make sure your vision wasn't blurry.
You both walked into the arcade. The smell of popcorn, metal, and a little bit of smoke coming from the Jumanji game and LazerTag hit you. The scent was nostalgic to you and almost made you cry. You remembered how you and your parents used to go to arcades even though they were separated. They went there just for you, and they didn't fight because even they would have fun. At times they would even bring Tanaka and his mom. Oh how you missed those days, but that was in the past.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm great. So, mind telling me why you brought me here?" you giggled out, your eyes a bit teary but he didn't seem to notice.
"Ahh, right, okay so I used to come here a lot actually," he said with a slight smile, much smaller than the one he had earlier. "But lately, I've been stuck with practice and studying for tests or whatever so I haven't had the time to come here. I used to come here everyday with my mom and dad when I was younger, but now they're always at work and don't have time to go places with me. So, since we didn't go to school today, I brought you."
"Ouuu okay. And, your dad, I haven't met him?" you said, a bit confused since you had slept over and didn't see him at all.
"Oh...no," his eyes darkened. "He's on a business trip. He's a sales and marketing director for a company, so he travels a lot. I think he said he was in New York this week. He comes back in 2 weeks I believe. I'll have to introduce you to him if he comes back."
'if...' you repeated to yourself in your head.
"That would be great," you beamed back with a smile. "Im going to go get some coins."
"LET ME PAY FOR MYSELF."
"Oh my god. Relax, I wasn't going to ask to pay for yours," you chuckled.
"O-Oh, okay."
