Next day i woke up to Jake banging my door. I answered him 10 minutes later. I did not wanted to face the reality of life yet.

"Rose! Come quickly at the pack ground. I will explain everything. Take Kabir with you too."

I looked at him groggily. I was not interested in any pack related thing. I was not interested in anything. I just wanted to remain here. And do nothing. But my parents gave their life to save this pack. Sadly, i picked up sleeping Kabir. Jake took Kabir from my arms when he saw that i am sleep walking.

"You lot are unsafe. So what if its a position of slave? Atleast you will be alive."

All the remaining pack members were in the ground. The gamma of a neighbouring pack was standing on the platform and speaking to us. There were 15 people from other packs. Around 4-5 packs have sent people over to recruit members for their packs.

All our strong warriors were dead. Mostly normal wolves and some omegas are left alive. Very few strong members are left and they are all aged below 16. And only i was left of the pack council.
Even Alex is dead. Which leaves our pack without a leader. According to Alpha Council rules, if there is no Alpha, the pack is disbanded and all remaining members are rogues. This gives a good opportunity to other packs to recruit slaves and sometimes a beautiful female for unmated wolves for pleasure. Our pack was not like this because our luna was a human and despised such acts.

I suddenly realised i am in a very dark world. It was because of my parents that i did not truly see the darkness of being in a pack.

There were murmurs going around after the gamma's offer. A little girl asked what happens if she wants to remain here.

A man, probably a warrior, smiled lewdly at the girl and said since the pack is disbanded she is considered a rogue and will be killed if she crosses any pack territory.

This shut those up who did not wanted to become slaves. Some girls started to cry. Now all that was left was for those who came to recruit, to select who goes with who. A gamma was staring at me and muttered something to the others. They gave me quick glances but double checked with wide eyes.

I ignored them. Kabir woke up. I took him from Jake's arms. He was still quiet.

"Jake? You and Sania can go to any pack and become a tracker. Have you decided already where do you wanna go?"

Jake glanced at me and smiled.

"Didn't you offer me and Sania jobs in the human world? We have decided to follow you. You can't back out."

I suddenly felt like crying. It was sweet of him to follow me and become a rogue.

"But what about your wolves? Can you stay atleast a month without going wolf?"

"No. We can't. I need to change atleast two times a week. But with you i think, we can."

"What? With me? How? Even if we put that aside, can you stay as a rogue? Wolves live in a pack. Its their nature. It will be just four of us. We will still be rogues..."

"About that, for some reason, my wolf has always felt a sense of belonging to you, stronger than the late Alpha." He looked at me puzzled.

"Huh?"

Before he could say more, there was a commotion on the platform. The selection has started.

There were six groups of people. The leaders were pointing towards the people and that person would go over to that group. There was a fight over a very pretty little girl- two leaders wanted her. She was very pretty. She was hardy 10 though. After 7 years she will be a beauty.

If i hadn't introduced the mate ceremony then this girl would have become a pack's prostitute very early. But now, all the neighbouring packs, as in the east side, have a new rule, no girl can become a prostitute untill she has attended atleast 3 mate ceremonies. Which gives this girl 3 chances to protect herself. But she would be expected to give other services other than directly involving her body. I feel very bad for her.

It was decided that she would go to the black haired man's pack but he would in exchange give 2 of his chosen group members to him.

I was not interested in looking at it. It makes me angry. I turned to look at Jake. He was now talking to Sania. I smiled at her.

"If you want to come with me, pack up. We are leaving in an hour. Just take your documents and other stuff. I will buy you everything anyway. I can't stay and watch this show any longer."

They nodded at me and we started to walk away from the ground. A gamma, who kept glancing at me, saw us leaving.

"Stop right there. You have not been selected yet. Why are you leaving?"

Suddenly, everyone was staring at us with curiosity.

I looked at the gamma who stopped us.

When none of us replied, he spoke again. "I have selected you. Come over here. You will have to leave that kid though." He looked at me like he was giving me a lottery ticket and even has the face to look smug.

"Not interested. Well then, bye!"

His face fell. Others also looked at me and him inquisitively. One gamma in particular looked smug.

I just want to leave this land. I waved him awkwardly and turned to leave.

"W..what? Didn't you hear me? I said I am allowing you to join my pack."

"And I said not interested." I turned to leave. Kabir was looking at him with curiosity. Jake and Sania looked alert.

"Wait. If you are not interested in his pack. You can join my pack, i can allow your friends to join too."

I stopped.

"Ok. Let it be clear. I am not interested in joining any pack. We are going on our own."

I thought there would be a huge uproar or something but i was not expecting complete silence. It was like i had said something unforseen. They were completely dumbstruck.

Then a man in his late 20s from our pack spoke cautiously. "You all are going rogue?"

The way he was looking at me made me question my own decision.

But before i could say anything Jake spoke instead. "Yes."

"Me and my Mate are going with her.

She is our Alpha."
