"I love you too, Cole."

"I'll talk to you later."

"Alrighty, bye." I hung the phone up and sat against the wall outside. I could see my breath but it wasn't too cold. I don't think I can tell Cole too much so I told him that I was sick and won't be going to school tomorrow. It'll probably be weird that Adrian would also be out on his second day, but that really doesn't matter. I don't want to go back in but I have to. I sighed and stood up to head back in. I grabbed the door handle to open it and closed it behind me. I walked through the hallway and into the living room to find no one there. I heard chatter in the kitchen, assuming it's Dad and Camy, well Mom. This is going to be so hard to get used to. I head up stairs to explore and saw only one door closed. I knocked on the door and heard Adrian get up off his bed and open the door.

"Hey Ash." Wow he's already calling me by a nickname.

"Hey, it was really awkward down there." I started fidgeting with my thumbs. I hope he doesn't read emotions like I can. He was so nervous downstairs but I don't blame him.

"Yeah," Adrian answered laughing.

"So what are you doing up here?" I asked as I scratched the side of my face.

"Just trying to study for Mr. Yonge's class."

"Do you want any company or help?"

"Yeah, I really do need help." He answered as he opened his door for me to enter. I walked in and saw his computer open and his work out. He was working on the alchemy project for History.

"How far are you in the project?" I wondered. I looked to his computer and saw an empty google docs.

"I literally just started researching whatever this is. What even is alchemy?" He asked with a little chuckle.

"It's the transformation of matter into different things." I sound like a complete freaking nerd. "It's an old thing from medieval Europe." As if that will help.

"And why do we have to learn this now?"

"I don't really know why we learn half the things we learn in school." I laughed. "We won't even need it after a while so there isn't a real point to it."

"Yeah." We sat down on his bed. I really don't know how to help with research but I suppose I can try. I grabbed his books as he grabbed his computer.

"Have you started writing, or are you only researching?"I don't know why I'm asking, I saw the empty page and he said that he just started researching. I'm such a dumbass.

"I've only researched so far."

"Alright. These are the cites that you are required to use." I gave him a piece of paper and listened to him type.

"Dinner you guys." Dad called up the stairs. We've gotten enough done to start writing now.

"Let's go eat. We've done enough for tonight, at least right now." I say.

"Yeah let's go." We walk down the stairs and into the kitchen to see Dad and Mom sitting at the table. Me and Adrian sat beside each other in front of our parents. I looked down at my plate in front of me to see spaghetti. I've never had good spaghetti, only the stuff from school. Like most stuff from school, it sucks ass. It's so plain and tasteless. But this stuff looked delicious. I could see the ground beef in it and there was sauce all over it. I saw Adrian grab his fork and take a bite. I just followed suit and it felt like an explosion in my mouth. There was just so much flavor. I guess that my parents saw my wide eyes and started laughing.
