Just FriendsFew weeks had passed since Regulus Black, a slytherin memeber, announced that he himself befriended not only one but three Gryffindors in the Great Hall. Side whispers, and strange glare and looks had been decreased in Gracies count. No longer does this incident make her confused, but it brings a smile to be stretched her face, just by the thought!
"Well hello there." Regulus appeared next to Gracie, as they walked through the Hogwarts halls. "Oh hello, how've you been?" Gracie asked trying to push out the fact that she was a blushing a bit. "Oh I've been alright." Regulus said as she shrugged his shoulders. Gracie could tell that something was up. The way how he ignored making eye contact, brought the girl to worry if something bad was going on. "Is everything alright?" The blonde girl asked.
Regulus finally looked at the girl in the eye, he again shrugged his shoulders before saying "What? No nothing is wrong." But something in his eyes made Gracie McKinnon to know that something was definitely wrong. "You know you could tell me anything." Gracie reassured. "I mean we are friends aren't we?" She asked. Regulus nodded as he smiled slightly, "Oh of course O'Hara." Regulus said as he wrapped his arm around the girls shoulders. 'There he is' she thought, but was the boy really there?
"I don't understand. I mean why would they even invite me to this stupid event? I thought they hated me!" A voice complained loudly in front of the two. That voice was Sirius voice, and as he turned to see his very own brothers arm around Gracies he couldn't help but to look at Regulus suspiciously. Along with Sirius came along Gracies sister Marlene. The oldest McKinnon sister rolled her eyes at the long haired boy, then stopped in her tracks as she sees her youngest sister, under the arms of Regulus Black. She also couldn't help but to quirk an eyebrow at the two."What is this about?" Sirius asked as he smirked. Regulus sighed before saying "Nothing. Can't a two friends walk around the halls together?" "Are you sure you're both just friends?" Marlene asked. Gracie widens her eyes before giving her older sister a cold glare. "What do you mean by that?" Gracie asked sternly. Marlene shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, I mean you two acting they way you do, never leaving each other's side, and always popping out some flirty jokes here and there. I mean cmon, it most likely seems like you two are going at it!" Marlene exclaims. Gracies cheeks burns red, as she continues on to give her sister a cold stare.
"Oh well does that also make you two to be in a.. Oh well I don't know some type of a relationship?" Gracie ask acting completely oblivious of her sisters cold glares. Regulus chuckled slightly, at Gracie remark. Marlene's cheeks had also began to have a color of a bright cheery, along with a Sirius.
"Anyways, what are you ranting about?" Regulus asks trying to ignore the McKinnons sister glare competition. "Oh well I don't know did you NOT get the invite to the Black ball?" Sirius ask loudly with a face of disgust. "Of course I did, I'm surprised that they even invited you!" Regulus responded. "EXACLTY!" Sirius clapped his hands loudly. "Why on EARTH would they invite me to this stupid ball if they hate me so much? They just want to make my life so miserable!" He said.
"It's not too bad, and hey it's not like you don't do the same." Regulus states. Sirius eyes widen as he had an idea popped up in his head. He looked over at Gracie who just looked at him in confused.
He turned to Marlene. "Darlin I love you but I just gotta scratch this off of my bucket list." Sirius said before turning over the the young McKinnon. "Gracie Lore McKinnon, would you do the honors of being my date to the Black Ball." Gracie jaw went down, as Regulus jaw sharpened slightly, and Marlene just stares at the boy in shock. "WHAT?" Gracie asked loudly as she shook her head repeatedly. "No NO you may NOT. Why don't you take Marlene?" She asked. "I want to take someone who my parents already loath, and I already know that she would say no, but you. Oh you, I know I could at least try." He said pointing his long finger at the girl with a sly smirk.
"Sirius no, and why on earth dose you family hate me? They don't even know me!" Gracie asked. "Oh no they know you. Oh yes they definitely know you. You see of course my mother and father, and basically the whole family is going to find out that my brother here made a SCENE to the whole school about claiming to be your partner in crime." Sirius nodded. "They definitely know you Gracie." Regulus body stiffened at the mention of his parents. "Sooo, what did they say?" Marlene asked. "Of course they wouldn't want a gryffindor to be friends with their favorite child!" Marlene exclaimed.
"Well, my mother sent Regulus a howler supposedly. And I guess she yelled and threatened him his life, that if she ever hears anything going on between the two of them, nothing good is going to happen. Prolly just burn off his face from the family tree just as she did to mine." Sirius mumbled the last part, but the two McKinnon girls still heard him. They gave him a sympathetic smile. Marlene touches his shoulder, and just like that Sirius was happy again. "So yeah they definitely hate you." Sirius went on. Gracie rolled her eyes as she tried to turn to Regulus to ask further more questions, but was cut off once again by Sirius."That is why I shall take you as my date to the Black Ball. We could piss them off with just you and me, and I promise I will not let you get hurt, I don't think my brother here would like that so much." He said giving his younger brother a knowingly smirk. Regulus still kept his stern stare at his older brother. Which Sirius returned with a wink. "Well what if I don't want to go? I mean you two are the only nicest people in the Black family, hoe am I supposed to survive with the rest of them!" Gracie asked worriedly.
"Don't worry Grace. Like I said nothing bad is going to happen, not with Im there and my brother." Sirius walked over to Regulus and wrapped his arm around the boy. "We'll both protect you." Sirius smirked, as Regulus gave off a annoyed look, but gave Gracie a reassuring smile. Gracie rolled her eyes as he shoulders slumped "are you sure nothing bad is going to happen?" She asked. "100% sure!" Sirius smiled. Gracie eyes went over to Reggie. "You know I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you." He said. Gracie blushes slightly, then nodded her head before saying. "Alright then, I guess I would be your date. But I swear if any-" "nothing is going to happen Grace." Sirius interrupted. She gave him an annoyed look. "Okay, but just now that I'm not going to be the only one mad if something bad happens. I mean cmon my sisters Marlene McKinnon, and my brothers... well actually don't get me started on my brothers they would completely ruin you two." Marlene chuckled "Yeah, especially Andrew." Gracie nodded then smiled. "Yeah especially Andrew."
She looked over at the two Black boys, and sighed deeply. "Okay." Sirius gave a relieved look, as Regulus gave off a jealousy look. Gracie eyes widen a bit, before saying "But just as friends." Sirius nodded in agreement, as Regulus looked slightly pleased. "Just friends" Sirius said.
