The next day, after college, he took me to a park. When he arrived, my mother was shocked as she would have never thought that I could ever make a friend or else a boyfriend. On meeting her, he gave her a bouquet( which was my idea) and promised Papa that he'll surely drop me before 9:00 p.m. He told me that there's something he wants to show me. “What are you going to show me?” I asked, excited. “ It's a surprise” he said “God, I hate surprises” and he smiled.
He took me to a park. It was the only park in our neighbourhood and I pass by it everytime I go to college. Then why is it so special When we reached the park, he made me sit on a bench, infront of a broken water fountain. There were lots of children playing around on swings and some people were also taking evening walks. After he seated himself, he said “Do you see, that fountain?” “Yes, that broken one?” I replied. “Yeah” that's the one. “Why is it so special?” “My mother brought me here when we were kids, she said that this fountain is magical, it can fulfill all your wishes, big or small, just throw a coin in it and the magic will happen” he said. “Really, and you believed it?” I said “Yes, I did and see the magic happened when I met you” he said. “Can I know, how?” I said, half teasing him and half desperate to know the answer. “I always wished for a person who can understand me, whom I can beleive in and when I met you, I swear I thought that you are the one, you are my miracle”. I blushed and cursed myself for ever doubting him. I never knew I could find someone who would ever in his life think about me like that, that I am the one. I never understood the concept of love and why do people sacrifice their lives for it, but now I do, now I understand each and everthing. Looking at me , he said “Are you ready to make your wish” “Will it still fulfill my wish if it's broken?” I said .
“ Magic can still happen with a broken heart” he said “ Yeah” I said. He pulled out a coin from his pocket and handed it to me. I am never sure in my life, for what I want. I am always confused between one thing or the other. I can't make any important decision quickly. I can't even decide what gift I want for my birthday. But this one time I was sure, I was sure of my wish. I threw the coin into the fountain and said to the water fountain' I don't beleive in you but Karan does and I beleive him. I wish Karan could always be mine and I could always be his, let death do us part'.
