Oliver's POV

"It's been an hour since they left," Erana said, tossing her duffel bag into the kitchen island with a clanking sound. "They promised to come back in fifteen minutes."

I looked at Erana. I was watching the bright sky slowly being invaded by the darkness, sipping a glass of orange glass.

Erana went over to the sink and rinsed off her hands. She was in jeans and a T-shirt, dirt on her clothes. Her hair pulled back in a tightly knotted bun.

"Where have you been?" I asked. "Kris's boyfriend woke up but when I told him that I was a Hemlock Hunter and he's in a temple of the fallen, he fainted on the bed."

"I went to London headquarters," Erana said, reaching for a dish towel to dry her hands. "One more were killed in the morning. It was John Twain."

"I knew it," I said, placing the half empty orange glass on the small wooden table in the kitchen and turned to face Erana. "I knew those bitches won't stop until they destroy all of us."

"We have a traitor," she said. "He has supported the evil all this time while staying with us."

"Who?" I asked.

"Jonathan Meyer," she said, turning around so that her back was to the sink.

"Jonathan?" I asked in disbelief.

She nodded. "A red-haired woman was caught by the newbies when she was stabbing a dagger into John's heart but Jonathan has attacked our hunters and has helped her escape."

"A red-haired woman? I thought the black-haired who tried to kill me last night was the murderer," I said.

"Seems like she's not," Erana said, walking toward me.

"Why can't we go to the headquarters and help them sort this out?" I asked, crossing my arms across my chest.

"We can't," she said.

"Why?" I argued.

"Because," she paused and finished the glass of orange juice as if she wants to avoid this conversation.

"Because?" I insisted.

"Nightlock is a cousin of Julian. The red-haired girl is the twin of Nightlock," she said, placing the empty glass on the table.

I was staring at her in shock.

She continued, "The Nightlock's Angel name was Aurora Harriet Roosevelt. Her twin is the red-haired girl who murdered John. Her Angel name was Aislinn Marina Roosevelt. They were the two daughters of Joseph Roosevelt, Julian's father's younger brother. They also had a brother called Austin Santiago Roosevelt, but I never got the chance to meet him. He was a poet; he fell in love with a mermaid and went to live with her in Mermaidia."

"But why on earth are they murdering Hemlock Hunters?" I asked, feeling completely exhausted.

She shrugged. "Julian and Aislinn have seen each other and now he wants to meet them."

"Okay, why are we hiding in here?" I asked.

"Because we have to hide everything from the others," she said.

"Why?" I asked, dragging a chair from the table to sit.

"Because we can't trust anyone," she said in a whisper as if there was someone else to peek into our conversation. "Maybe Jonathan is not the only traitor."

"Then let's just go and kill the two Roosevelt sisters before they cause any more destruction," I suggested.

She glared at me. "We have to know why there are here and why they are murdering Hemlock Hunters."
