Writers POV:
Rory Gilmore and her mother Lorelai are very close, so close that they tell each other everything and even hang out with Rorys boyfriend together. Rory loves her boyfriend, his name is Dean Forester and they've been dating for over a year, they've said there I love you's so the relationship is ones idea of a commitment, to them both. Rory is really excited for her first year of college, but something happens that upsets her.
Rory's POV:
"I feel great today!" Said Rory to her mother, everything feels like it's coming into place. I mean I go off to Yale tomorrow?! That's incredible. Well you've worked for it, said Lorelai, not long after, hearing a subtle knock on the door, Rory rushed to answer it out of excitement, she opened it a crack to find Dean, tired, it almost looked like he'd been.. crying, Rory rushed to the door and closed it immediately but delicately, grabbing the bobby pin from her hair and shoving it into the lock. Wh-why did you sho- don't ask! Said Rory abruptly, now what's wrong?, why are you here?, looking like this!? Now? On my day!! Rory went on to rumble for a couple seconds before dean could yell a traumatic sentence in Rorys eyes, I'm not going to Yale and I'm not leaving Stars hollow, said dean as quietly as possible because he could sense Rory didn't want to ruin this day for anyone but herself if she must. Rory went inside, shut the door and locked it, leaving dean with not so much as a facial expression to absorb her feelings toward the subject. Inside Rory began to sob, her mother rushed to hug her but it only made her feel worse, I'm not supposed to be getting pitied on my day! Said Rory followed by a quiet exhale of her breath, Deans not coming. She broke to her mother oh so softly, as a tear drop went down her cheek. Lorelai held her tightly as she continued to cry. I guess no Dean? So n-n-no... Yale?
Deans POV:
Dean headed home not long after what he presumed to be a breakup with his girlfriend, he went to the mall to get her a necklace and get a chance to explain himself before she made the decision of moving on, while dean was looking at the jewelry he heard a breath coming from behind him, "Long distance works, huh?" Said the voice from behind him, reading the necklace dean had his hand on, Dean jumped like in a horror film when you get a jump scare, Jess..? Said Dean as silently as possible, you mad Forester? Said Jess, uh-um- n-no! No no of course not!! Yelled Dean in a loud and strong voice leaving Jess speechlessly uncomfortable, so Jess man how are you- uhm doing? How-how are you doing?! How's Jen? We broke up. Said Jess angrily as he walked away. "damn it". Said dean with an angry sigh.
Dean circled the mall when he finally found Jess, smoking a cigarette in the parking lot, still doing that, huh? Said Dean to Jess in a calm voice, as if you'd care, not like you ever did, said Jess with a scratchy voice as the smoke blew out his mouth, that's still gross, you know, said Dean with a giggle, Jess remained silent. I'm sorry for treating you like crap and I'm sorry for not dealing however I should be dealing with you but what you did isn't okay and she needed someone! She needed you. So if you're back for her... I'd go home. Where ever that is, now. Said Dean. I didn't come back for her. Said Jess as he threw his cigarette on the street. Dean watched him walk away.
Jess's POV:
Jess went to sit by the liquor store where he was getting "free" cigarettes, he looked to his side where he saw Rory fast walking to the mall with an extra chocolate ice cream cone, extra chocolate, his favorite. Said Jess as the smoke blew in Rorys face. Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse. Said Rory, Jess laughed. A man passed by Jess, "failure" he said in disappoint, I'm sorry, dad. Jess said as his father walked away. Jess grabbed his sleeping bag and rested his head on it as he dozed off.
Rory and Dean came running, I told you he'd be asleep by now, said Rory, why do we have to help him I don't understand why you even care? Said Dean, stop it and grab an end of the bag. Said Rory.
The next morning Jess woke up in Deans house he looked and there was Deans bed, he immediately started to flash back to all there times together... he got terrified and immediately got up, he fell to the ground and Rory came running to help him, y-you get the hell off of me slut! Yelled Jess, Rory gasped I have to get to Yale anyways. Rory ran off and slammed the door. Jess took a breath and sighed.
Groups POV:
While Rory was at Yale she was feeling anxious, in need of comfort, she called Dean, but there was no answer. So she called Jess, to apologize, Jess immediately answered, I'm sorry Rory said, I understand if you don't wanna talk. What if I came over? Said Jess.
Jess woke up in Rorys bed the next morning, so... morning, said Jess with a smile, Rory couldn't catch her breath after realizing what she had done, she rushed out of bed got dressed and drove all the way to stars hollow to confess to Dean, once she got there she knew where he'd be, she rushed to his little sisters dance recital opened the door and without a hesitation she yelled something she never in a million years knew she would say again. I love Jess! She said. And I-um had sex. Dean ran off and shut the recital door, Rory followed him in tears, I'm so sorry Dean please! She yelled, I just need to know one thing, said Dean, does he... love you? Rory said nothing, and that's when Dean knew, he had lost what he once called love. Rory walked away in shame, but also happy that she knew what she wanted.
3 months later:
Rory and Jess had been a couple for 3 months, Dean was depressed because he knew something he wish he would've realized a long time ago, it wasn't Rory he wanted... it was Jess.
