It Would All Make Sense

Chapter 5: Busy

Narrator 1: Jack just avoids her glance and she takes her seat. Matt and Jack pass notes for the rest of that period, making fun of Mrs.Crumbolt. The rest of the day was a breeze.

Narrator 2: The last bell finally rings and the boys start walking home. Leya and her friend Sophie get picked up at the front.

"So tomorrow, Basketball tryouts?" Matt's making it more of a reminder.

"Of course, I'll just meet you at your h-" Jack stops. He knows Matt's parents are Bad drinkers who use very bad language especially when they have to be social.

"Sorry man, you can spend the night at my house and we'll leave to school early to be at tryouts on time" Matt stayed over often anyway so he agreed then shrugged off Jacks earlier absent minded statement.

Narrator 1: Leya and sophie are in the car talking about their drama.

"Eric is trying out for basketball, maybe we can get up early meet eachother at the bakery and walk to school to watch him at tryouts?" Leya really did have strong feelings for Eric when they were dating and she still does.

"You should get over him already girl , he's with kelsey and they seem happy." Sophie really annoyed ,snaps.

"They're not happy . He's just getting back at me for making out with Jacob secretly during their football season . And kelsey is just desperate for anyone." Leya says this proudly but she's really embarrassed.

"Enough of that. On another note , have you seen any cute guys in any of your classes?" Sophie reluctantly changing the conversation knowing that it would lead to that incident last year when Leya caught her and Eric kissing in the auditorium.

"Nope."

"What about that Winston guy you sit next to in first period, you were staring at him for a while today."

"Jack Winston? Dont be ridiculous. No." Leya then started thinking of him.

"Good because did you know he's and underclass boy , with no father?" Sophia is laughing as she says this.

"Daddy this is it." He comes to a stop She turns to sophia. "Okay bye." She doesn't know what just came over her.

Narrator 2: After his mom is done in the shower ,Jack cleans up Lily and Jace in the tub then puts them to bed. Its Matt who goes in next while Jack reads them to sleep. Then Jack goes in when Matt is done. Everybody is asleep by 8:40 and Jack is finishing hand washing and hang drying all of their clothes by that time. They cant afford a washer or dryer, it's 1954 anyways who cares.

Narrator 1: Leya sits in a lavender bubble bath and trys to figure out why she keeps thinking about Jack Winston. Then she remembers Eric and forgets all about him.
