Lola's POV

That was a very awkward car ride I thought to myself as I was getting ready for school. Jace doesn't talk period but it was hard trying to make conversation.

I was about to put on my pink Lolita dress when I thought about what my classmates would say. It's been a few weeks since I started my junior year in high school. So not only am I the new kid but I'm also the girl who dresses weirdly and still looks like a freshman.

I debate on weather or not I should dress normally when my phone buzzes.

I squeal in joy as I pick up the phone

"Hey boss is everything alright?" I say trying to contain how happy I am that he called me.

"Hey Lola everything's fine I'm just outside your apartment want me to give you a ride?" He says in his nice voice.

" Oh you are? Well umm yea that would be great I'll be down in just a sec." I say realizing I'm still in my pajamas.

"Alright take your time" he says and ends the call.

About 15 minutes later I climb in the bosses car.

"You look lovely as always" he says as he looks at me.

"Thanks" I say blushing I don't know why he complements me when he always looks so handsome.

After a great conversation with the boss we arrive a my high school right on time.

As I'm about to get out the car the boss gently takes my hand.

"Don't be nervous you look wonderful and if anyone says otherwise I'll kill them" he says

I laugh nervously and say "Please don't and I'll be alright thanks for dropping me off."

With that I walk into the building and as usual I get the weird glances and mean stares.

I'm expecting to be alone today but then a girl in dark cloths walks up to me.

"Hey wanna hang out" she says in a calm voice

"Yea" I smile, happy that I just might finally have a friend.

As we walk and talk I find out her name is Nova.

"Umm Nova why did you wanna talk to me?" I ask

She looks at me and shrugs "Everyone was talking about the short girl who dresses weird and I thought since I dress weird too you would feel less uncomfortable."

"Plus I liked how you still dressed in your own style even when people would judge, that takes balls" she said looking at her phone.

She's so cool

I think my whole face was pink when i was finally able to respond "Thanks Nova that means a lot"

She just gave a slight shrug as we took our seats.

"So you dress like a emo goth girl?" I ask not listening to the teacher.

She nods "and you dress like a pink little Lolita girl" she says blowing a bubble with her gum.

"Haha yea" I laugh

"We match perfectly" she says giving a slight smile.

As class comes to an end Nova tells me she'll see me at lunch because we don't have the next classes together.
