Well, like I said, I was made in a lab. I was basically supposed to be the ultimate symbol of peace and the strength of the Yan-Ka Empire. A lot of people hated that idea and wanted me dead. And the people that were supposed to be on my side weren’t much better. They looked at me and only saw how I could bring them power. I wasn’t my own person, I was no better than a slave. So I got sick of it, commandeered a military spacecraft, and ran away. Now the powers that be are upset their little toy is missing so they sent the best bounty hunters in the Empire after me. And they won’t stop until they find me, and I can’t really tell you when that will be,” Aoba explained.
“How many of them are there?” Koujaku asked. His mind flashed with images of an army of green tentacle men coming for Aoba. He wasn’t sure if that was funny or disturbing.
“Ten, each with their own powers and talents. I have each of their powers, but only a fraction of the ability to use them,” Aoba continued.
“Well, it’s better than nothing,” Noiz said. Aoba nodded, fear etched into his face. Koujaku had seen that type of look plenty of times before. Wounded animal, scared animal. One that wasn’t sure how much time they had left before the worst happened.
“I have an idea,” Koujaku blurted with all eyes on him, “ we gather a little army of our own. I know some guys.”
“You mean Ren and his pack? I thought you hated him,” Noiz said.
“He might be a smelly werewolf, but we worked things out. And besides, Ren is always ready to fight, and he’s damn good at it too,” Koujaku replied.
“Thanks, Koujaku. It means a lot to me that you’re willing to fight for me,” Aoba smiled and walked over to wrap his long arms around him. Koujaku wasn’t prepared for how wonderful Aoba smelled. It was like every good thing he’d ever dreamt about all in one. Heat rose to Koujaku’s face. Fuck, fuck, fuck, was he really about to catch feelings for a fugitive alien?
“No problem,” Koujaku shrugged, taking out his cell phone and ignoring the thumping in his chest. He hit the contact “Dumb Dog” and waited for him to answer. Ren picked up on the fifth ring.
“You do realize what time it is, right?” Ren grumbled groggily. Oh shit, it was almost 2a.m.
“Sorry man, but there’s been a situation and I need your help,” Koujaku replied. Ren’s deep, throaty laughter bubbled up on the other end of the line.
“Say that again,” Ren chuckled. Koujaku sighed.
“I need your help,” he admitted.
“That’s what I thought you said. Now what’s the situation?” Ren asked.
“Well, a hunter took Mizuki and sliced me up. I went to Noiz to get fixed, and a literal alien showed up and he’s on the run from the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. So, I was wondering if you and your pack would be willing to help fight if and when they show up,” Koujaku said.
    “That’s ridiculous,” Ren replied.
    “I know.”
“I’m in,” Ren said with glee.
“You are? That’s great man, I’ll owe you one,” Koujaku sighed with relief.
“You still at Noiz’s?” Ren asked.
    “Yeah.”
“Be there in 15,” Ren replied before hanging up.
“Okay, Smelly Mutt is on his way, he’ll be here in 15 minutes he says,” Koujaku said to the room.

There was a sharp, short knock on the door. The smell of wet dog hit Koujaku’s nostrils with a vicious attack.
“Yuck, he’s here, and it’s raining apparently. He’ll need a towel,” Koujaku muttered, standing up from the couch.
“I’ll get it,” Clear said, getting up as well and heading toward the door.
“Hey, Jellyfish,” Ren’s deep voice came from the foyer.
“Hi, Ren,” Clear was blushing a bit, “everyone’s in the living room. Well, besides Koujaku, he’s getting you a towel.”
“Why?” Ren asked, following the automaton.
“Because you stink,” Koujaku said as he entered the living room, tossing the towel at the werewolf’s face. Ren just chuckled and used the towel to dry his hair.
“Thanks, Red Demon. You’re the sweetest,” Ren said, tossing the towel back. Koujaku dodged it and it went sailing into the hallway.
“Anyway, I’m Ren. You must be our new visitor,” Ren said, sticking a hand out. Aoba took it and gently shook it.
“Yeah, I’m Aoba. Thanks for doing this, Ren,” the blue-haired alien smiled.
“Not a problem, I don’t mind helping out the occasional gorgeous stranger,” Ren winked. Aoba giggled, a gentle blush blooming over his striking face. Koujaku just glared.
“Alright, so we need to talk strategy,” Noiz said, standing up, “Aoba, you said you have powers. Just what exactly can you do?”
“Well, I can levitate some objects,” Aoba replied while making Clear hover about two feet off the ground, “but nothing bigger than a human.” Clear beamed, eyes wide in astonishment.
“Whoa! What else can you do?” Clear asked excitedly.
“I can shoot electricity from my hands,” Aoba said, looking around, “probably won’t demonstrate that one in here, though. And then my last power is more of an involuntary one, during certain times, I release pheromones that make me basically irresistible to everyone.”
Oh my god, Koujaku thought, I really am fucked. He eyed the alien boy, wondering if what he was feeling was a coincidence or not.
