It had been over 2 days since naruto and menma had started their journey to the village , the anxety growing within naruto , he was going back to the place he ran away from , but he had to do it , he had to keep menma safe .

Menma said placing his tiny hands in narutos bigger ones

yes kiddo naruto replied

im cold he said a little shiver in his voice

Naruto smiled a weak smile as he picked up his 6 year old son and snuggled him into his chest , giving him the warmth he desired

Time skip

Both naruto and menma stood infront of the giant gates of konoha , naruto stared at it in displeasure while menma stared at it in awe .

well , shall we naruto said guiding his son through the gates

stop ! Identifications please one of the men at the gate yelled causing both naruto and menma to flinch at the sudden voice .

uhm sorry , im naruto , naruto Uzumaki , and this is my son naruto said pulling his hood down to reveal a nest of yellow hair and blue eyes .

One of the gate keepers yelled in shock ,

Naruto only laughed nervously scratching the back of his head as the gate keeper allowed him and menma to go through .

mama , who was that ? menma asked his big blue eyes starring back at his mum .

hes .. uh.. a friend he replied smiling at his adorable son

whats a friend ? menma asked eyes twinkling

yah ! menma , are you trying to be smarter than your mum , ill eat you if you do that naruto said as he scooped menma into his hands as the both laughed out loudly causing a few passer byers to stare .

naruto ! is it really you , oh I missed you she ran up to him giving him a hug

yeah he replied with obvious disgust

naruto !!! another voice interrupted , another oh so familiar voice , but unlike sakura , the worry in their voice wasnt fake , it was real and it caused naruto pain

sasuke naruto replied as the other ma walked up to his , examining every inch and corner of narutos face , he placed both palms on either sides of narutos cheeks as naruto pressed into them feeling a fleeting warmth that only lasted a second , before he realized what he was doing , he had only seen sasuke for less than a minute yet he had already let down his guard , narutos sudden action lead to sasuke feeling hurt by hes gesture .

where have you been , we thought you died sasuke said glancing over at menma , wo looked oddly like him .

well as you can see I am not dead narut said squeezing menmas hands tighter .

naruto come stay with us sakura said taking one of narutos hands in hers .

thanks but no he replied not wanting anything to do with them .

come on naruto , your house was sold , and it will be warm there and you get food the offer was tempting but , living with sasuke was not gonna be an easy task , but naruto looked over to menma seeing his half freezing son , he sighed and agreed .

fine , but only till I can get a house later

so who is that little one sakura said about to touch menma , till naruto pulled his son out of her grasp

dont touch him he said lifting him up and holding the back of his head .
