"Wow" I spoke in awe. The office was huge, double the size of my bedroom back home. The desk was a smooth, dark rich wood and on top of it sat a brand new Apple laptop. Behind it sat a dark study chair which was backed onto the wall that was made up completely of glass windows. The view is what shocked me, it was like you could see the whole of London. The streets were hustling with busy people, some crossing the street, some setting up their corner stores, and even the occasional person cussing at another across the street.
A deep chuckle erupted from behind me and I jumped around, feeling startled.
"I take it you like it?" The voice belonged to a tall man with dark, strong features. His hair was basically black and sticking up stylishly, whilst his eyes were a dark brown, and dark stubble slightly coated his sharp jawline. His muscular body was dressed in a blue button up shirt that tightened around his biceps, and black dress pants that showed off his physique.I blushed in embarrassment at the handsome man before me, "It's amazing, thanks" I smiled, finding my composer once again.
"I'm Sawyer Heel, it's really a pleasure to have you come work for us. We really valued your motivation and work effort that you showed in the interview.""Oh my go- Mr. Sawyer, i'm sorry I didn't realise. Thank you so much for the opportunity, I can't wait to work for you," I said eagerly with my jaw slightly agape, and my hand struck out firmly for him to shake. Who would've known this young hottie was my new boss and CEO of Sawyers Law Firm.
"Just call me Evan," He chuckled, giving me a genuine smile and gently shaking my hand, "the papers for the first case should be on your laptop for you to go over when you're ready. Have a good day Miss Wilson." And with an adorable grin, he left my new office. My office, wow. I looked around me again and grinned in appreciation. My future is just beginning.

An embarrassingly large yawn unintentionally left my lips, and I sighed, thankful I had finally finished taking notes on the case before me as I closed my tabs on the laptop. This case would be a difficult one to win, I just know it. I picked up my phone from my bag and almost dropped it when I realised the time. 11pm... what!? I had been here since 9am. I quickly gathered my things and shoved my bag over my shoulder as I made my way out of the office and company. As I walked past the other offices, it was quiet and eerie, and a shiver ran across my body as I picked up my pace. I finally reached the elevators and felt my stomach turn as I lowered to the lobby of the building. I pushed through the glass doors into the freezing wind of the night, with the full moon glaring down at me. By now the streets were mostly empty as I looked around, making my way to my apartment. It was a few streets away, about a 20 minute walk, which is actually really close and I was really lucky to get it. It was cute too, small but nice and cozy.
A buzzing from my coat pocket made my thoughts stop as my shivering hands quickly grabbed it. I unlocked the screen and found my little sister had sent me a funny picture of grandma telling off grandpa for dipping his hands in the pasta sauce cooking on the stove again. A little giggle escaped my lips and a genuine smile grew on my face. My grandparents and my little sister are everything to me, they are all I have left. I giggled as she sent more pictures from home, and I felt myself missing them already, but I reminded myself this job is better for all of our futures. I'll be able to take care of them all, and I could-
"Ouch" I yelped as I went plummeting down on the cold wet street of London, landing on my hands and knees in a cold puddle. My phone had scattered a few feet ahead of me and I hoped it wasn't cracked. The tall figure above me grunted from the impact before picking up his own things and getting up quickly.
"Watch where you're going next time, filthy muggle." The hoarse voice muttered, whispering the last part so quietly that I almost didn't hear it.
I quickly pulled myself together and abruptly stood up, furious at the audacity of the rude stranger.
"Excuse you asshole, that was your fault, and what the hell is a muggle!?" I demanded as I faced him, however, my tough facade slowly dissipated I took in his harsh, yet gorgeous, features. His hair was a bright platinum blonde, gently laying across one of his eyes, but not enough to completely cover the stunning silvery blue colour of his eyes. His cheekbones were high and his lips plump, a vision to look at. He was beautiful, yet I was most shocked by the deep anger and dullness that his eyes showed.
His lips slightly lifted at my words, but not in a kind smile from a stranger, more like a sinister smirk. His head tilted to the left as his eyes travelled up from my long legs to my eyes, where he let his eyes stay. They squinted slightly, as if he were trying to take me in but also intimidate me. My legs shifted as I grew uncomfortable, but also yearned for him to say something or give me a smile or introduce himself, anything. It was like he read my thoughts when he quickly shook his head and his smirk dropped, replaced by a blank face as he took one last look at me and quickly rushed off down the street.
I felt speechless at the strange encounter with the devilishly beautiful man who bumped into me. Whilst I thought to myself, good, I wouldn't see that rude, arrogant man again, I knew I wanted to. I shook off these thoughts and tried to forget the situation as I walked towards my phone. Picking it up I sighed in relief to see it wasn't broken and didn't have any cracks from the fall. However, as I began to turn away I noticed an odd looking thing on the ground near where my phone was. It must've been dropped by the man too. I grabbed it gently from the wet floor. It was nothing I had really seen before, it looked like a wooden stick, yet it was carved so intricately I knew it must be more special than an ordinary stick from a tree. At the very bottom of the stick was carved 'DM'. Hmm, so it's obviously a personal belonging. I pocketed the stick in my bag and hoped tomorrow on the way to work I might see the man looking for his .. stick? toy? I don't know, but whatever it is, my gut told me he would want it, so I would keep it safe incase i ever saw him again anyway.
Once I finally arrived home, I shook off the wet coldness from the night and treated myself with a long, hot shower. I twisted the knob off and grabbed a towel as I stepped out from behind the glass and looked up at myself in the mirror. My long dark hair hung down my back, past my full chest, just touching the top of my butt. My small nose was slightly red from the cold, and my light blue eyes shone brightly in the reflection, however I noticed the small dark rings underneath them that wouldn't seem to go away with no matter how much sleep I got. My plump lips sighed at the reflection on the mirror and I wrapped my towel around my wet hair.
As I shoved on some fluffy pjs and jumped into my double bed, I was excited to close my eyes for tonight and even more so to open them again tomorrow to face my second day at work, living all alone in London for the first time.
