CHAPTER 6: A-DAN'S APPLE

* Dining Area *

Different variety of breakfast foods is being served on the glass table. There are bacon, hams, spam, garlic-flavored sausages, sunny-side-up eggs, and many more.

I am sitting opposite the child. He is just staring at me like he is carefully observing me. We have not started eating yet for we are still waiting for granny.

"Ahm... Hello..." I greeted him with a doubtful tone.

"Good morning," he replied.

I just smile at him for I am not sure of what I am really doing. I glance at the food again and I notice that something is missing.

Where is the--

The granny suddenly arrives at the dining area carrying a large bowl of fried rice. The smell of it is so appetizing.

There it is! *my eyes gets widened as the granny puts the bowl at the top of the table and sits down on the chair.

"Okay, let's eat!" she said as she offers me the food.

"Wait, may I ask, where am I?" I asked the granny.

The two get shocked by what I have just asked.

"Really? You do not know where you are, Nuna?" asked the child.

"Ye-es... What does Nuna mean?" I questioned for I have not ever heard that word before.

"Nuna means older sister. Have you already forgotten it? Lola Mona, why doesn't Nuna remember anything?" the child asked his granny.

"Geco, maybe she is still recovering from the accident." the granny answered.

What? An accident? What is she saying? I cannot get it! *with a doubting expression on my face then suddenly, my head aches which makes me touch it.

"Oh, are you okay?" she asked with her eyes full of concern and sincerity.

I just nod my head.

"Geco, let's just stop questioning." the granny advised.

"Okay, Lola." he agreed.

"Anyway, I am Lola Mona and he is your little brother, Geco." the granny told me with a smile.

I just cannot believe what on earth is going on. Is this real or a dream? *then I tap my face trying to wake myself up.

The granny holds my hand to stop me from what I am doing.

"That's okay, let's just eat," she added.

We begin to eat our breakfast made by Lola Mona. While eating, I simply take a glance at my surrounding.

Shit! This house is expensive!

There are large porcelain vases, huge frames of nature-like paintings on the wall, and this enormous crystalline chandelier hanging up on the well-designed ceiling. It is like I am living in a paradise that I have never imagined in my entire life.

"Evelyn, if you feel something wrong, just tell me." Lola Mona said then she takes a bite of her food.

So... Evelyn is my new name? Yas! Sounds sophisticated.

"Okay, Lola... Mona." I said for I can still feel the awkwardness inside.

She just smiles at me.

I feel my head hurts again.

"Ah!" I unintentionally muttered.

"Evy, I think you should take some rest," Lola Mona said.

"Geco, would you please take your Nuna to her room after she eats her breakfast?" she requested.

"Yes, Lola," Geco responded.

* Room *

"Sleep well, Nuna!" Geco said in front of the doorway when I am about to close the door.

"Thank you, Geco," I replied then he leaves.

Somehow, I feel gladness inside my heart for at some point in my life, I have wished to have a sibling, and here is Geco, Evelyn's little brother who makes my dream come true.

I lean my back against the door.

I know this is such a peculiar event that even I myself cannot believe that this is really happening but Evelyn, wherever you are, I promise that I will be taking care of your granny and brother. *I breathe out a sigh of relief.

I slowly walk around the room for my head is still hurting a bit.

Whoa! Is this really my room from now on? Gosh, this is way different and better than my room at the boarding house! I also love the ambiance and the color of the room. It is bright rosy pink as a pink pearl apple. The taste! Wahaha!

All of a sudden, I stop in front of a cheval mirror.

Damn! You are kind of pretty, huh? *as I am staring at myself in the well-cleaned glass.

And these boobs? Whoa! I love it! Is this how it feels having these? *as I am gently caressing that part of my body for it is unbelievably amazing.

Pop!

Something has just rung inside the room.

"Where does that come from?" I asked myself then start searching.

Pop!

It rang again and this time, I know where it is. I lift one of the pillows and I am right! It is under the pillow.

I get the phone and open it.

Oh, someone just texted me.

Strange number: How are you feeling, babe? I hope you are now okay. I hope you go to work tomorrow because I am already missing you. Huhu! (crying emoji)

My face turns red the moment I read the message.

What the heck! Who is this? Am I being delusional? Is this really true!? Is this my fuckin' boyfriend!? And wait! I already have a job?!

I look at the mirror again.

Whoa, whoa! Evelyn, I never knew that you are kind of wild, huh? *as if I am talking to someone.

Gorgeous I am! Wahaha! *as I flip some tendrils of my long black hair to the back of my shoulders.

I did not reply to the person for I get carried away seizing the moment that I feel on my bed with closed eyes while holding the phone on my chest.

"Cliche it sounds but still, true beauty cannot be seen by the eyes instead it is felt by the heart."
