Freedom

Jessica

It was 2 in the morning when I packed up my belongings, ready to sneak far far away from this dreary house. After multiple failed attempts, this couldn't go wrong. I, in no way, wanted to get caught.

I held my breath as I tiptoed through the corridor.

My house was large, more than enough for two people. My mother is a successful businesswoman but I was anything but happy. My father had left us when I was three. Since then, I've had the worst life one could have. Though we were rich enough , I didn't own a car. Why ? Because, it would give me FREEDOM which was the last thing I expected here.

I knew I'll have a hard time finding a place to stay, but anything was better than living here.

I climbed down the railing of our house and slided down the water pipe. I've already threw my bagpack in the garden so as soon as my foot touched the ground, I grabbed my bagpack and started running.

I ran and ran until I could not be viewed even if mom climbed up the terrace.

That was it. I was free. I got the freedom I was seeking for in all these years.

I didn't stop running, I ran until my legs were shaking and I couldn't run anymore. I sat down on a bench in a park probably a mile or two away from my hell.

It wasn't long before I fell asleep hugging my bag.
