chapter 5As nice as the professor looked, I don't think I can say I enjoyed his class much. Adam and I sigh in sync when the siren goes. Everyone starts packing up even before he dismisses us. Turns out I'm not the only one who hates this class. I've always loved English, but this isn't going well.
"hey. I'm off to get some lunch at the food court. Care to join me?" Adam asks as we leave the classroom with all the other students.
"I'd love to. I'm starving"
The food court is also packed. Not that I'm surprised though. This is a large campus, after all.
"Beth!" Adam and I turn around at the mention of my "new" name. Far off to the left I spot Curtis and the girl from last time, Emma on a four seater bench.
Obviously, we join them.
"Hey. Don't tell me. I can see your class was as boring as mine." Emma says with a smile, as she takes a bite of the apple she held in her hand.
"You don't say. How can a man so good looking be that boring? It just doesn't make sense." I pick a strip of chicken from Curtis' food, all the while ignoring the murderous glares he's throwing my way. Halfway through, I remember I have company.
"This is Adam. Adam, Curtis and Emma." He trades a handshake with both of them.
"I'm going over to the food stands. Should I get you anything?" Adam asks with a smile to die for.
"yes please. I'd like some tacos, with a can of coke. Thanks" I reach into my purse and pull out a 20 dollar bill.
"Nah. I've got it covered" I ignore his attempt of being a gentleman and push the money into his hand.
"So have I" I reply with a wink and a smile. Ever the flirtatious type. Yep. That's me. He shakes his head with a chuckle, and walks away.
"He's hot." Emma says. She finishes off her apple and picks up a banana.
"Yep. Definitely. Quite unfortunately, I'm off the dating radar." I reply.
"Anyways. Professor Pierce has given a homework. Said we should read on Elliot Aronson. We'll be discussing him in our next class." Curtis announces, then takes a huge bite of his sandwich.
"I thought we signed up for a psychology class. Not History," Emma says, annoyed.
"Elliot was a psychologist. So I think that counts." I reply.
Adam returns with two tacos, a can of coke and a can of sprite in his hands. I collect my food with a show of gratitude.
"I hope Professor Pierce takes one of my course when I go to level 200.I could definitely do with a hot professor once more." Emma says with a dreamy glaze in her eyes.
"Isn't he going to be taking us through?" I ask, confused.
"I don't think you get how this works, City girl. When you're in level 100, Psychology is taken as one course, with other extras that aren't really important, since you'll be dropping them when you get to the next level. Then, you'll take up the different courses that fall under Psychology. Then, we are likely to be in different classes since our combinations may be different. I heard the professor is going to be taking some of the courses. If you're lucky.." Curtis shrugs and takes another bite of his sandwich.
"Now, moving on to much interesting things. There's a party Friday night. We've got to go" Adam says.
"We have a class Friday evening with Professor Pierce. I think I'll pass." I reply. Curtis definitely agrees to attend. Same as Emma.
