Kurt and Blaine met each other 5 years ago in the stairs of the Dalton Academy in Westerville. Kurt was one year older than Blaine and was in love with the boy he met on the stairs. 3 years after their meeting Blaine proposed to Kurt in the stairs of Dalton in from of all their friends and family.
