a dark blue car rolled up to a large house, a soft breeze swept across the land. a boy moved the shift stick forward, the car purring off. the boy took the keys out of the ignition and swung open the driver side door. with a small exhale, he left out a small sigh. the smell of the ocean breeze flowing around as clicks of other doors opening sounded.

in total there were six of them, six teenagers on summer break from school. ready for a summer of fun and relaxation.

the boy who had been driving had maroon colored hair, his pink t-shirt ruffled slightly in the wind, a hand shielding his eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. he had a small chain necklace that dangled from his neck.

a girl walked up next to him, and leaned her head on his shoulder, "this is should be a nice summer pyro." she wore a nice sun dress, with blue and white floral patterns painting it. the girl's dark brown hair was tied back in a braid that swayed a bit.

pyro turned to the girl, a smile forming on his face instantly. "as long as i'm with you it will always be amazing alexis. it's going to be nice to get away from the city." he pressed a kiss to her forehead, alexis smiling in return. the boy wrapped his arms around the smaller girl.

the pair gazed up at the gleaming beach house, surprisingly cheap to rent out considering it was by the ocean and the sheer size of the place. it would easily hold the six college and high school students.

glancing behind them, alexis and pyro gazed at their friends who were struggling to get their bags out of the van they rented. an amusing sight to see a girl who was barely five feet and a boy who was six feet wrestle with bags in the trunk.

the short girl had brown hair that faded into a rose gold color at the tips, a delicate yellow flower crown placed on the top of her head. she wore denim overalls with different colored patches sewed onto it, mostly in warm colors like pink and yellow. she wore white converse with multi-colored laces crossing up the shoes.

the tall boy wore a short sleeved hoodie that was green, his fluffy brown hair was tucked into his hood that was atop his head. he wore jeans that were slightly ripped up along with dirtied sneakers. his brown eyes were filled with soft happiness, happy to be around his friends.

the pair of friends talked excitedly to one another, smiles etched onto their faces. happiness blossoming in the air around them. laughter twinkled in the ocean air. their names were nomi and swaeshy.

another girl sat inside the van still, her head buried in her phone. blue eyes scanning the screen, the girl invested in what she was doing. her brown hair was tied back into a low ponytail. she wore a long blue shirt that stretched past her jean shorts, a water bottle in her hand as she sipped out of it every once in a while. the water bottle had a name painted across it. 'alice'.

a third boy was sitting on one of the navy blue luggage cases. his chin rested on the palm of his hand, brown eyes gazing out towards the ocean, lost in his thoughts. he had dark brown hair that blew whichever way the wind desired. he wore a light orange t-shirt that had a small dragon embroiled on the front of it. he wore jean capris that were clean as could be.

"hey horizon!" alexis shouted running over to him. with a jolt his eyes shifted away from the ocean view to alexis's eyes. "stop zoning out, we've gotta head in."

horizon groaned a bit before picking himself off of the ground unwillingly. "just let me be slow- you know i'm slow." he whined out fixing the suitcase to an upright position.

alexis shoved his shoulder playfully, "cmon. let's just head inside." the six teenagers gathered their bags, all shapes and sizes. before they could go in they heard another voice, "hey are you guys the people moving in this summer?"

the voice was male, he was standing in the garden next to their own. he had brown hair with short bangs nearly reaching to his eyes, sunglasses covering his brown eyes. he was shouldering a yellow surfboard with a hibiscus flower printed on it. he wore a loose white shirt along with swim trunks. green flip flops adorned his feet.

nomi gave a friendly smile waving to the boy, "yup! should be a nice summer break. what's your name?"

the boy gave a small laugh before responding, "i'm las, this is my friend nova." he jerked his thumb towards the jeep that was in their driveway. a head popped up from behind the car, they had shoulder length hair that faded from brown into blonde. they offered a small smile and wave before ducking back behind the car. "good luck living in that house though. it's supposedly haunted." the boy waved his free hand around in an attempt to be spooky.

"haunted?" alexis questioned furrowing her eyebrows. "what do you mean by that?"

las sat down his surfboard, before turning his attention back to the six. "there have been a couple deaths in that house, all over the summer. occasionally people who rent out the place here whispers and chills."

he laughed at the pale faces of a couple of the teens, "i'm just joking, it's all just speculation anyways. enjoy your house neighbors." the boy muttered something under his breath but none of the teens could quite make out what he said.

pyro shrugged turning towards the door he fished the keys to the house out of his pocket and unlocked the door. it creaked open and they all entered. alice flipped a light switched and the lights slowly flickered on, the electricity only now starting to flow.

the front room entrance was clean- not a speck of dust floating around. a coat rack had an abandoned blue hoodie on it, that looked wore down. the teens took off their shoes, leaving them scattered at the entrance. "let's just get settled in, yeah? there's no such things as ghosts." pyro huffed. "the renters said the place was big enough where we could each have our own room."

the others let out sounds of agreement, alexis decided to walk up the stairs. the wood creaking beneath her. once she had made it to the top she walked to the end of the hallway. she opened a white door with splotches of blue paint across it.

she took a step in and her eyes widened. there was a balcony, the doors open and the curtains flowing around. "oh, this one is definitely mine." she laughed happily throwing her stuff onto the bed. she glanced around the room, completely ocean themed.

sea creature decorations were littered across the room- wether it be the jellyfish fan on the ceiling, a dolphin rug in the center of the room, a seal plush sat on the blue comforter, and a whole shelf on a wall filled with glass sea creatures.

there were a couple medals on the wall, moving closer to them the girl saw they were for diving and surfing. a couple trophies also decorated the dresser in the room.

alexis flopped onto the bean bag chair in the corner of the room, sighing contently as the ocean air filled the room. "this is going to be an amazing summer." she blissfully closed her eyes, unaware of the other pair that were focused on her.
