The Job And New Pet [Chapter 4]

***Katleen's POV**

We sent everyone home after the disco apart from Maria and Alfie. I talked to Maria about what happened with Joe and we both did our sorry faces and hugged it out. She is still by bestie and chummy no matter what. To be honest the longest argument we had that we didn't talk to each other lasted about 10mins. Joe was still quiet and just sat on the couch next to Amber not saying much. Alfie was happier after his break up, I have to say. Bless him, he kept promising I wasn't a re-bound. He did care, I just wish all boys could cheer me up on times like that. 

My phone started playing Wrapped Up - Olly Murs as it vibrated trying to alert me it was ringing. I was in the shower at this point so kindly Amber picked it up. It was from my boss. If you didn't know me and Maria are vets. We work a couple of hours from 7am to 6pm. The hours aren't that bad and the pay is perfect. We love our job. Oh yeah forgot to say Amber lives with me in apartment 24 so she answers all my phone calls for me if I'm busy.

I got out of the shower and got dressed. I put on a black top with a black jacket and blue jeans. I tucked my hair up into a ponytail and curled the ends. I walked down stairs to find Amber waiting patiently at the door with her work bag and badge in her hands. I stood on the bottom step staring

"Come on" Maria said jumping up and down

"Chummy, I got out of the shower about 3 mins ago, you need to catch me up" I asked

"Call in at vets" she spoke really fast "Litter of puppies" she continued "Wanna hug them" she finally blerted out.

"Omg" I smiled as I ran in the living room to grab my work things.

***An Hour Later***

***Maria's POV***

Who knew looking after puppies was sooo hard. Everytime I fed one, another one would climb on me and scratch me. I mean Katleen was handling it like a boss but I was juggling puppies who were using my head to get to Katleen's necklace. When we put all the puppies away, I kept hold of a black and white puppy. I know you shouldn't name them but this little boy looked like an Oreo. Katleen turned round to take the puppy from my grasp and put it back with the others. I held a grasp on the pup and shook my head

"Maria" She looked at me with her hands out waiting for the puppy

"No" I smiled as I held Oreo closer

After about 4 mins of this Katleen gave in

"You really want to take this boy home" she asked

"Yep, gonna pay put of my wages" I smiled

"How about his sister joins us" She giggled as she reached into the cage and pulled out a small puppy who had grey and brown patches on her soft white fur. Katleen cradled the puppy.

"Come on lets go adopt" I laughted as we walked out of the vets with the two puppies. I did feel bad for the others but these two choose us.

***10 mins Later***

***Katleen's POV**

We arrived home and released the two puppies into the room. Next thing we know Alfie and Joe are round and playing with our new puppies. I sat cuddled up to Alfie while my pup, Mishka ran around on Alfie. Joe and Maria were on the floor playing with Oreo.
