The Headless Corpse in the Forest, The Greedy And the idiot

- A short story, very short -

In today's story we are going to talk about a certain individual who made a heinous crime and tried in all possible ways to cover his tracks, but eventually he got caught.

One day a person was jogging in the woods, doing his daily exercises in the morning, and he found a female corpse laying behind the bushes; headless. He got closer to it, of course the guy got shocked and petrified and ran as fast as he could towards the police station. He told them about the matter and took them there to see with their own eyes. And indeed, they found a woman with her head chopped off with a couple of open wounds on her torso.

The police carried out the necessary checks and tasks on the crime scene and they found that there were traces left on the ground. Between the front wheels and the back wheels is a noticeable space showing that it's likely a pickup truck and not a small car, they finished their investigative job picked up the girl and went back to the station.

Once they placed the girl in the morgue, they took her fingerprints and were able to identify her as a citizen of Salasosa, the capital of our great country Arstotzka. The investigative team went on to her address and found the mother living there with the victim's little brother, her mother greeted them and welcomed them into the house all confused and not knowing why the police was at her front door, they explained why they were there and asked if the girl in question was her daughter and she said yes. The inspectors asked if she had any pictures of her and the mother gave one. Once they confirmed that it was indeed her, they confronted the mother and told her that unfortunately her daughter was dead and that they were looking for the killer.

They took the mother and the brother to the morgue and confirmed the body, they were devastated but still they had to take their testimony. She said that "yes, she is my daughter, and she has a child of her own and she is divorced. Here is a picture of her, look at my poor little child and how innocent and pure she looks" the inspectors took the picture to use in the course of the investigation. She then continued trembling in her voice "I don't know what she does in the line of her work, but she works on other cities and come to visit us once in a while".

After a short investigative work, it turned out that the girl was a prostitute. She ran around discos and bars and nightclubs looking for potential clients, the case was passed on to the Ethics Police department who was experienced in this sort of field, they showed the victim's picture to a couple of other prostitutes who identified her and gave more insights into who this person was.

One of the prostitutes turned out to be her friend, she said that yes, she lived in Salasosa, she has a child of her own, she always hanged on that bar called Dancerona, "she is very famous over there, she used to work with us all the time until she met that guy..." "which guy! What's his name?" the inspector interrupted "oh yeah! you mean Felicio! once she knew him, she started to come with him every night and day." She continued "he was like her shadow, he spent a lot of that cash on her, they drank together, freaked together, slept together, he even bought her a house, now that's what I call true love" the inspector asked her when was the last time she saw her and the prostitute answered "oh! She stopped coming to Dancerona after she met Felicio but she comes from time to time with another client, but not very often though! But most of the time she's with Felicio"

The investigators started tracing this Felicio guy until they found him, he turned out to be a drug dealer specialized in cannabis and methamphetamine production, prison wasn't something new to him, going in and out was a normal routine for him, it was part of his job. They caught him and brought him for an interrogation.

He said "yes! She hangs with me most of the time, we spend nights and in the morning she leaves." He continued "but it's been almost ten days that I haven't seen her, I called her multiple times but she wouldn't answer" the inspectors asked for his phone for analysis and then went on straight to his house for further inspection, there they found the phone of the victim and a couple of her clothes. He said that he had bought the phone for her and she had left it with him because she had a new one, now the inspectors had both of their phones and took Felicio to testify. Where he conducted that she indeed hanged with him and that he asked her not to go with any other clients any more since he will take care of her living expenses, that she wouldn't need to work anymore as long as she is with him.
