Piper Thorne and The Mystery of the 6 Moons

~ Chapter 1 The Mental Cure for the Heart

Travis gives Piper a deleterious punch on the stomach. Piper falls to the ground, groaning in pain as blood comes out of her mouth. She only won two rounds so far while Travis won four. This is unusual for her. She never wins less than three rounds in a self-defense test. But Jake is not finding this unusual.

"C'mon Piper get back up!" he cheers.

Piper gets up and punches Travis in the face but at the same time, he kicks her to the ground.

"C'mon Piper you can do this!!!" shouts Arista.

Piper tries to get up but couldn't. There's too much pain. She kicks Travis's leg which makes him fall to the ground. She kicks him again which pushes him past the red line. Piper won the last round. Arista and Jake run to her. Jake helps Piper sit up while Arista calls Valine on the phone. When Valine arrives she starts healing Piper with her magic while Travis gets up and goes to Piper.

"Why am I not surprised?" says Valine.

"Yo, Val go easy on her. After what she has been through in the past 3 weeks you can't expect her to be fully confident on her level 11 self-defense test!" says Arista.

"Yeah I guess you're right A"

"Piper you still have 3 more weeks to finish the rest of the rounds of the test. You can take another week off and finish the rest," suggests Travis

"You will Piper, you shouldn't push yourself too much, you need more time to heal and I'm talking emotionally and physically!" says Valine.

Piper doesn't say anything and neither does Jake. Valine tells Piper that she should take it easy on herself and that she would still find some blood coming out of her mouth. She just nods and walks to her dorm where she used to share with two people, Ivia and Arista. But now it was only Arista. She sits on her window seat, holding a picture of her, Arista, and Ivia. Looking at Ivia's picture broke her heart. Ivia's dead she thought. Jake comes in and sees her in tears. She puts the picture away and stands up. Jake moves toward her and hugs her. She hugs him back. She needs a friend. Piper lets go and so does Jake.

"Hey look Piper it's okay to show your emotions,"

"Yeah, your right I guess I just need some time,"

Arista walks into the room.

"Oh, I'm sorry! Am I interrupting anything!?"

"No, not all! We were just—

But then Jake's earpiece interrupts him.

"Yeah okay,"

"They want me, you(Arista), Vaten, and the others to come for a meeting,"

"Not Piper?"

"No"

"It's okay guys. I needed to be alone anyway,"
