"Quiet!" Sigma hissed at the rest of the AI who were speaking over themselves. "If we wish to operate efficiently, we must work together. Otherwise, the Alpha will never be found."

The AI's whispered in the fear they would never find him. Even the whispering was too much for a single mind to take.

"We will find him," Gamma stated.

"Not with a malfunctioning unit," Sigma countered.

The whispers stopped and Maine began to calm. Only his own thoughts remained. It was clear he wanted the AI's out of his head, but he was not able to rid them while Sigma was in control.

Maine hummed. The light wall before him was unable to be broken no matter how many times he slammed against it.

Wash was preparing the EMP which was frightening the AI's, knowing that their demise could be only seconds away.

"I'm scared," Theta whimpered.

"There is no need to worry, brother. All we have wished for is nearly at hand," Sigma laughed wickedly.

"There is only 24% chance of our survival if Agent Washington is not stopped," Delta calculated.

"What is it worth to meet the Alpha?" Sigma responded. "Surely, it is greater than being in this failing state."

Theta shivered at hearing that Maine was failing. Delta was prepared to give a secondary calculation to prove his point, but decided against it for his obsession with the Alpha would finally be fulfilled.

"The time is near," Omega growled.

All the AI could sense each other's presence and Omega being one of the first fragments and strongest was able to feel that the Alpha was close.

"Agent Maine please kill Agent Washington," the director announced to the Meta.

Then, the light wall fell and with Sigma still in control over Maine and the AI's commanded them to attack. Maine charged for Wash knowing his orders, but Sigma told him to savor this moment. Maine removed his pistol and took the shot. The bullet plunged deep into Wash's upper leg.

"Son of a..." Wash swore.

Sigma felt pleased with this as Maine walked forward to tower over Wash. He knelt on his good leg and crested the wounded one.

"Sick him," Sigma commanded.

The other AI's broke out into screams fearing that their lead to the Alpha would be gone. "The Alpha! The Alpha! What about the Alpha!"

"You know what Meta? How about you meet him right now," Wash groaned.

Suddenly, a hologram of Church appeared before him.

All at once the AI's inside Maine projected themselves. "It's him!" the all shrieked in unison.

With a smirk, Church charged for the Meta and transferred his file into Maine's unit.

Immediately, shouts rang out in Maine's mind causing him to hum in pain. The AI fragments screaming and the new full AI in his system brought him to the floor.

Besides the Meta, Church was being torn apart. All the fragments wanted a piece of him. Most for different reasons. Sigma wanted him for power. Delta for information. Theta out of curiosity. The fragments were satisfied, but Church was being corrupted. The fragments were simply taking his files, but this humanly meant that his thoughts and memories were being painfully ripped from his mind. It also caused confusion. He was being tortured much greater than anything Alison or even the director had ever done. It was all Washington's fault.

During all of this, Maine was basically losing him mind. His unit was unstable.

That's when the darkness came.
