After a long day at school, I return home. Sawyer greets me at the door followed by Opal.
"Hi Lily!" Opal says as she hugs me.
"Where are the others?" Sawyer asks.
"Hmmm. Alex and Stephanie went to a movie. Lacey is at soccer practice. And Will and Josh are at football tryouts." I say.
"Why didn't you do a sport?" Opal asks.
"Because, I have flute lessons...in 5 minutes." I say.
I rush upstairs and into my room. I put my flute together and put my sheet music on my stand. Then I start to play Armada Of Freedom. My flute teacher walks in and begins the lesson. She plays Yankee Doodle with me. I miss 5 notes and she stops.
"Lily, what's wrong with you? You never miss notes. And these were the easiest of all the notes." Mrs. Keel asks.
"My..my boyfriend died." I whisper/say.
"Oh my. We will end the lesson here. Tomorrow you can call me if you want to have your lesson tomorrow." She says.
"OK." I say.
Sawyer comes into my room as Mrs.Keel leaves.
"Leave me alone!" I scream as tears start to fall down my cheeks.
He runs away and I fall to the ground. My life is over. Without Jacob I am nothing.
